Honest Looks Good On You: A Conversation on Creativity, Racial Reconciliation and Hard Truths In Relationship w/ Craig Brown & Andrea Summer
06/14/23 • 56 min

Guess What? It's possible to have an honest conversation...and still keep a relationship. It's true! A few weeks back an industry friend reached out and said, " I know these two incredible people making a film and I think you'd love to talk to them!" Turns out, she was right! Our new friends Craig and Andrea were set out to create a film that talks about racial reconciliation in a new light. This has been something that we have become increasingly aware of as a culture but truthfully...the way these two have created space for this dialogue is new, and fresh. Through it they have modeled what it could look like for others conversations like it to happen as well. I left this interview inspired as a creative, hopeful for our tables and culture. I know you will too! You can expect to hear:
- An important note to the closet creative and dreamer
- Balancing authenticity and triggers in our current culture
- How to have difficult conversation and maintain relationships
- The important role music has in story telling
- How to be aware of our own biases
- How Mercy & Me was designed in a way that no one feels attacked but rather that everyone feels that they have the words they need to feel heard on all sides.
The three of us instantly connected and that lead to a really fun, really authentic conversation that you will NOT want to miss!

Crafting, Pairing and Enjoying Artisanal Chocolate- A Tell All w/ Nicole From Delysia Chocolatier
I am known for a few things, and one of them being my incredible love for all things chocolate. As I got older and dove into the worlds of coffee and wine, I realized that similarly chocolate has a culture and world of it's own. It didn't take long for me to realize that the mass produced chocolate that I would feast on as a kid no longer fit the way my foodie palate was expanding. This led me to learn more about what makes chocolate...good chocolate. While truthfully I am very much at the beginning of my learning Nicole Patel, Master Chocolatier, teaches me in this episode all about one of my true loves in a profound and decadent new way!
Through this conversation you will hear:
How a career in Engineering led Nicole to launch her chocolate company
Does your chocolate crack or bend? What are the main differences between what we see on store shelves like 'smores chocolate' and chocolate thats produced in small batches? How to tell the difference and why it matters
The proper way to store and serve your chocolate and how it enhances the taste
Delysia is known for their unique flavors and stunning presentation! Nicole will share how she crafts and creates all of it...without tasting a piece!
Chocolate lovers unite for a conversation that will get your excited to dig your teeth into some of the best chocolate you've ever had AND know how to serve it, gift it and more in the future!
