The Business of Personal Relationships
There is nothing more gratifying than being a part of the kind of relationship where both parties contribute.
However, there are few things more difficult for many individuals with a chronic mental illness than starting and maintaining a connection with someone—and having that be a healthy connection.
Things like a lack of time, resources, insight, vulnerability, and other life issues are often the causes of failed relationships for many—let alone someone battling a chronic mental illness.
So, where does that leave those of us managing our chronic mental illness (with the constraints so many of us seem to face)?
In this episode, I tackle how I’ve made progress in my relationships—all kinds of them—and where the ones that I’ve maintained are at today!
I address what it means to be that person who generally needs the help—and getting the help—without leaning too much on my personal relationships!
I share how I won over the kind of people I’ve always wanted in my life, and what each friend I’ve made (and decidedly kept), means to me.

Treatment is a Privilege
Happy International Podcast Day (September 30)!
There’s a lot of talk about recovery in today’s society. What is recovery? What does it mean to recover? What are relapses? And, how is treatment a privilege?
To be fair, I don’t know that recovery is possible by most people’s definitions (or without treatment if we’re getting down to it), so I will just focus on what I personally can do for “growth.”
