Living with Chronic Mental Illness

“No one ever finds life worth living—one has to make it worth living.” — Winston Churchill

Season 1 coming Weekly in September 2022 to Apple, Google, Spotify, YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts.

The Living With Chronic Mental Illness Podcast documents the story of my atypical mental illness. It’s my journey to managing chronic schizoaffective disorder. It’s the story of challenging moments, of failures, of successes, of love, of loss, and of hope. This is the story of how ignorance lost its bliss.

The Business of Personal Relationships

There is nothing more gratifying than being a part of the kind of relationship where both parties contribute.

However, there are few things more difficult for many individuals with a chronic mental illness than starting and maintaining a connection with someone—and having that be a healthy connection.

Things like a lack of time, resources, insight, vulnerability, and other life issues are often the causes of failed relationships for many—let alone someone battling a chronic mental illness.

So, where does that leave those of us managing our chronic mental illness (with the constraints so many of us seem to face)?

In this episode, I tackle how I’ve made progress in my relationships—all kinds of them—and where the ones that I’ve maintained are at today!

I address what it means to be that person who generally needs the help—and getting the help—without leaning too much on my personal relationships!

I share how I won over the kind of people I’ve always wanted in my life, and what each friend I’ve made (and decidedly kept), means to me.
