Welcome to Let’s Rewatch it Again! I’m Jourdan and...
“I doubt he has any idea how a girl should be treated.
Like a princess I suppose.
No, like a person with kindness and respect.”
This week we are Rewatching Rodgers and Hammerstiens Cinderella the 1997 direct to TV movie directed by Robert Iscove. This version of Cinderella stars the first African American woman to portray Cinderella, Brandy Norwood. Our Fairy Godmother is played by the one and only Whitney Houston and our stepmother is Bernadette Peters.
And there’s more!
Whitney Houston co-produced this film and originally was mean to play Cinderella but she ultimately decided she had outgrown the role and then she offered it to Brandy. This is my top favorite version of the Cinderella story, followed closely by Ever After and then the Disney animated film.
This film is adapted from a broadway musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein and it’s the second film adaptation and for some depressing reason you cannot purchase and stream the soundtrack anywhere!

Let's (Re)Watch: The Intern (2015)
The Intern is a buddy comedy-drama directed, written, and produced by Nancy Meyers. Our starring roles are none other than Robert Denero and Anne Hathaway. Yep, you heard me, if that pairing does’t match up in your head, don’t worry romance is never even hinted at between these two!
We also have supporting roles by some other people you’ll know and love such as Rene Russo, Nat Wolf, Adam Devine, Anders Holm, Andrew Rennels, and Zack Pearlman.
The plot follows a 70-year old (I know, stay with me) widower who becomes a senior intern at an online fashion company. He soon becomes besties with the companies CEO Anne Hathaway.

Let's (Re)Watch: Friends TOW at the Beach
Hey Y'all!
In our season 3 finale of Friends, our six head off to the beach in Montag in hopes of reuniting Phoebe with an old family friend. Meanwhile, Ross must decide between Rachel and Bonnie.
We also have two other minor plot lines with Chandler trying to convince Monica he would make a good boyfriend for her and Joey trying to make everyone play strip “anything.”
One of my favorite things about Friends is that all six characters are main characters. We get four plot lines all intertwined while in a single bottle episode with only two guys stars and w are seemingly on location. In most TV sitcoms you can pinpoint who the most important or most focused on character or characters are but not in friends. Each episode we circle around and every single character gets a plot line.
A few things of note for this episode, it is a season finale where we once again have a cliffhanger all about Ross and Rachel. This was the first set of DVDs I owned, I received them for my birthday and watched them waaaayyy to quickly.
This was actually the same year my dad went through some very serious cancer treatments and nearly died. He’s alive and well now but I was only in 9th grade. These four DVDs and six characters became a security blanket for me. I have seen this finale episode more times than I can even count and it never gets old, boring, or less frustrating when we don’t see who Ross chooses!!
