Let's (Re)Watch: Friends TOW at the Beach
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
09/19/22 • 34 min
Hey Y'all!
In our season 3 finale of Friends, our six head off to the beach in Montag in hopes of reuniting Phoebe with an old family friend. Meanwhile, Ross must decide between Rachel and Bonnie.
We also have two other minor plot lines with Chandler trying to convince Monica he would make a good boyfriend for her and Joey trying to make everyone play strip “anything.”
One of my favorite things about Friends is that all six characters are main characters. We get four plot lines all intertwined while in a single bottle episode with only two guys stars and w are seemingly on location. In most TV sitcoms you can pinpoint who the most important or most focused on character or characters are but not in friends. Each episode we circle around and every single character gets a plot line.
A few things of note for this episode, it is a season finale where we once again have a cliffhanger all about Ross and Rachel. This was the first set of DVDs I owned, I received them for my birthday and watched them waaaayyy to quickly.
This was actually the same year my dad went through some very serious cancer treatments and nearly died. He’s alive and well now but I was only in 9th grade. These four DVDs and six characters became a security blanket for me. I have seen this finale episode more times than I can even count and it never gets old, boring, or less frustrating when we don’t see who Ross chooses!!

Let's (Re)Watch: Parent Trap (1998) Part 1
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
07/10/22 • 83 min
Hey y'all, this week we are rewatching The Parent Trap starring Lindsay Lohan!
This film is blessed by the wonderful Nancy Meyers, if that name doesn't sound familiar you may not realize she is the one who brought some of our favorite movies to life. The Intern, The Holiday, Home Again, Father of the Bride 1&2, What Women Want... I could go on but we gotta talk about the Parent Trap!
The Parent Trap is about a set of identical twins that are separated at birth by their parents who each raise them an ocean apart. During the summer of their 11th year the girls meet at an eight week long camp and decide to switch places to bring their parents back together.
This is in one of my top favorite movies ever. I think we can all agree it's truly iconic.

"... As We Know It" - Grey's Anatomy (Super Bowl Part 2)
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
03/29/23 • 40 min
Today we are talking about the Grey’s Anatomy episode that aired after the Superbowl in 2006. "... As We Know It."
This is Part Two, if you haven't heard part 1 go listen to "It's the End of the World..."
Since I’ve only talked about Grey’s Anatomy one time before I’ll give you a quick look into the show:
Grey’s Anatomy focuses on the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings as they develop into seasoned doctors while balancing personal and professional relationships.
The series follows the life of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), the daughter of the famous general surgeon Ellis Grey, starting from her acceptance into the surgical residency program at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. During her time as an intern, Grey works alongside fellow physicians Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and George O'Malley (T. R. Knight).
Also, Christina Ricci guest stars in this episode!

Let's (Re)Watch: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997)
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
09/13/22 • 73 min
Welcome to Let’s Rewatch it Again! I’m Jourdan and...
“I doubt he has any idea how a girl should be treated.
Like a princess I suppose.
No, like a person with kindness and respect.”
This week we are Rewatching Rodgers and Hammerstiens Cinderella the 1997 direct to TV movie directed by Robert Iscove. This version of Cinderella stars the first African American woman to portray Cinderella, Brandy Norwood. Our Fairy Godmother is played by the one and only Whitney Houston and our stepmother is Bernadette Peters.
And there’s more!
Whitney Houston co-produced this film and originally was mean to play Cinderella but she ultimately decided she had outgrown the role and then she offered it to Brandy. This is my top favorite version of the Cinderella story, followed closely by Ever After and then the Disney animated film.
This film is adapted from a broadway musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein and it’s the second film adaptation and for some depressing reason you cannot purchase and stream the soundtrack anywhere!

Let's (Re)Watch: Supernatural - Mystery Spot
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
02/14/23 • 46 min
"Heat of the moment! Rise and Shine Sammy!"
Welcome to Let’s Rewatch it Again, I’m Jourdan and today we are rewatching Supernatural season 3, episode 11, Mystery Spot.
Now, before we press play, y’all need to understand how we got here. Sam and Dean are monster hunters taught by their father. He raised them while searching for the yellow-eyed demon that killed their mother when Sam was a baby.
Now, the yellow eyed demon is gone, but Sam still has the powerful visions the demon gifted him with. He also, died because of this demon. Then, Dean sold his soul to a different demon and instead of the usual 10 year contract, he was only given a single year. All of season 3 is the boys trying and failing to save Dean from this time bomb that is his life now.
Instead of previously on, Superntraul has a “Then” moment. Today’s recap lets us know again about the one year time line, the fact that Dean doesn’t want to go to hell and become a demon, and we learn how to kill a few different monsters. Most notable is a jin, a trickster, and our common vengeful spirit. Then we are reminded about the Colt, the gun with the ability to kill anything with one shot. A fellow hunter, Bella, stole it from them. We also, are reminded about Ruby, the blonde demon who is kinda, sorta, maybe with the boys? It’s always unclear whose side she really is on, besides her own of course.

Let's (Re)Watch: Gilmore Girls- Forgiveness and Stuff
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
12/05/22 • 64 min
Welcome to Let’s ReWatch it Again, I’m Jourdan and... “There’s a burger with a face.”
Today we are rewatching Gilmore Girls season 1 episode 10, Forgiveness and Stuff. Yes, this is our third Gilmore Girls episode. I told y’all, I rewatch my favorite shows over and over again and it’s December so I’m hitting up all my favorite Christmas episodes!
This episode catches our girls right on the tail of Rory’s first school dance with Dean. The two of them are officially boyfriend and girlfriend, and they accidentally slept on a bean bag chair at Miss Patty’s Dance studio. Nothing happened! Truly, nothing happened. However, Emily and Lorelai got into a huge fight upon waking up to find Rory still not home.
Then, Lorelai and Rory fought. None of the Gilmore Girls are speaking and it’s time for Emily’s annual Christmas party with the infamous apple tarts. Lorelai refuses to go and in her absence Richard is rushed to the hospital.

Let's (Re)Watch: Signs (2002)
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
10/03/22 • 98 min
Today we are ReWatching Signs a 2002 film written and directed by M Night Shyamalan. Listen, y’all probably don’t think Signs is that scary but it’s one of the only scary movies I can actually handle. I love a good alien movie and this is one of those movies for me that whenever I see it on a streaming platform, I have to watch it again! I can’t help it!
If you’ve never seen Signs it’s a horror film about a widowed reverend living with his two children and brother on a Pennsylvania farm. One morning they awake to find mysterious crop circles in their corn field, their dogs began to act strangely and then crop circles begin appearing all over the world.

"It's the End of the World..." Grey's Anatomy (Super Bowl 2006)
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
03/20/23 • 39 min
Today we are talking about the Grey’s Anatomy episode that aired after the Superbowl in 2006. "It's the End of the World..."

You've Got Mail (Feat. Stuff I Didn't Write My Dissertation On)
Let's (Re)Watch it Again!
11/18/22 • 40 min
Today is a joint episode with Kyra and Emily from Stuff I didn’t Write My Dissertation On! Yay! See, I have friends. LOL
We are rewatching You've Got Mail. A favorite of Kyra and myself, but Emily has only seen this movie exactly one time.
A little about You’ve Got Mail:
It was written and directed by Nora Ephron.
Nora Ephron is one of the women responsible for many beloved movies of my childhood. All three films I’ve seen of hers all star Meg Ryan. Hanging Up and Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail were on constant repeat at my house as a kid.
You’ve Got Mail is based on a 1937 Hungarian play Parfumerie by Miklós László (which had earlier been adapted in 1940 as The Shop Around the Corner and in 1949 as In the Good Old Summertime),[3] it was co-written by Nora and Delia Ephron, sisters! Delia wrote the screenplay for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Another favorite movie mine!
Synopsis: Book superstore magnate, Joe Fox and independent book shop owner, Kathleen Kelly fall in love in the anonymity of the Internet both blissfully unaware that he's the one trying to put her out of business.
