In her most recent memoir, Jess details how she went from being married to an abusive career criminal (who eventually tried to kill her) to living a life of purpose as a philanthropic leader. After being attacked, Jess left the marriage to create a new life for herself and her kids. In the process, Jess chose to forgive her ex-husband which freed her mind from resentment and empowered her to create a life filled with joy.
