Let Beauty Guide You - Being a Spiritual Ninja Means No Spiritual Bypassing

Being a Spiritual Ninja Means No Spiritual Bypassing

Let Beauty Guide You

White folks, this is a conversation calling for us to be better! In this episode, Best Selling author, Janelle Christa, explains what it means to be a Spiritual Ninja. In order to contribute at our greatest capacity, we must face our humanity and deal with the hard stuff. Relating her work to Black Lives Matter, Janelle doubles down on why it's not okay for white people to deny, ignore, or bypass systematic oppression and the pain of BIPOC (in this conversation, specifically Black people). In the context of standing for social justice, yes, self care is important. However, the Black Lives Matter movement is not about the fragile feelings of white people. Protect our energy so we can hold space and contribute? Yes. But we should feel this. We should de-numb ourselves to the pain of all those who are oppressed. It is only by doing the work and getting present to the impact of White Supremacy that we can leverage our privilege to take steps in the right direction.

Anti-Racism and Inclusivity in Healing and Wellness Spaces

Important conversation alert! In this episode, Reiki Healer, Yogi and soon to be Tao Hands Practitioner, Charise Mofford, joins us to discuss anti-racism and inclusivity in the healing and wellness spaces. It's a BIG conversation. We started to crack open why wellness spaces (especially yoga studios) are primarily occupied by white people, what actions white leaders can take to be more inclusive with their healing services, the difference between real anti-racist work versus optical inclusivity, the dangers of spiritual bypassing, and what role healers have to play in social justice (a big one!).
This is a lifelong conversation and practice. I am forever grateful to Charise for sharing her gifts to forward the conversation. Black Lives Matter.
If you'd like to work with Charise (she offers Reiki and she's cooking up a lot of good healing stuff!), you can contact her on Instagram: @charisemofford OR email: [email protected]

Open Share about Life and Body Love

A little bit of a different flavour to this episode of Let Beauty Guide You! Just wanted to openly share why I've been quiet for the past few months and what's been shifting in my life as a result of the times, stuff I'm sure you can relate to as well.
ALSO, I wanted to share that I have created a Signature Program called Body Love. This program is designed to empower you to transform your relationship with your body so that you have access to deep gratitude, love, and appreciation for your body on many levels. The program goes deep and if you'd like to be part of this transformative experience, DM me on Instagram: @niateachtoronto or shoot me an email at [email protected]
