Leave Your Mark - #52 - Ranger Red, White and Blue with Reg Grant
play

01/15/19 • 53 min

This episode features Reg Grant who has been the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Rangers Hockey Club of the National Hockey league since 2002 and currently serves as the President of the Strength and Conditioning Association of Professional Hockey. Prior to his work in the National Hockey league, Reg served in the same capacity with Concordia University in Montreal and was also a lecturer in the Exercise Science department. Reggie’s quiet and unassuming leadership in hockey have helped shape the profession in the sport over the course of the last fifteen years.  He has been involved in the transition into technology and more organized performance systems in the sport, and he leads by example through character and care of the athlete. Reg is a dedicated father of three with his wife Natalie, and one of the many reasons I asked him on leave your mark is because he has been able to navigate the difficult and demanding world of professional sport while continuing to be the father I know he strives to be.

Leave Your Mark - Take Care of You with Josh Fletcher
play

06/04/24 • 61 min

This is Josh Fletcher's third time on the podcast. Josh has 15+ years of experience as a human performance coach working with Olympic medal-winning programs, the military Special Forces, F2/F3 racing drivers, and corporate professionals from PwC, Deloitte, and Capita.

He helps senior leaders, people managers, and talented corporate professionals to thrive alongside the extreme demands, pressure, and stress of the job. With expertise in stress management, burnout, switching off from high-pressure situations, and resilience coaching, Josh brings a wealth of experience to provide bespoke well-being solutions for organizations and individuals.

Throughout his career, Josh struggled to meet his high personal expectations, manage the stress of demanding jobs, and find time to prioritize his well-being. The results of years of mismanagement were burnout, stress, job loss, and apathy towards an industry he once loved. Josh’s purpose and why behind Wellness Blueprint is born out of experiencing the highest and lowest lows that the high-performance coaching industry can throw at a person. His mission is to support individuals and organizations in delivering meaningful well-being interventions and creating work-life harmony.
I think you'll find great value in this conversation.

This episode features Brian Rose the Founder & Host of London Real, the new media and transformation company best known for its weekly live video talk shows with the greatest minds on the planet that have been watched over 250 million times. Originally from California, Brian holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. After a relatively successful career on Wall Street, Brian moved to London to be an investment banker. But Brian had an epiphany while ironically sitting in the chalet of Sir Richard Branson in Switzerland: he hated himself, his work, and his life. So, he resigned, and as an experiment created London Real. His journey wasn’t without great challenge, he was fraught with self-doubt, peer-pressure, and life-defining struggles. But Brian persisted, and since its inception, London Real has broadcasted conversations with over 500 top influencers, released three feature-length documentary films, graduated over 3000 students from their Academy, and become an internationally recognized brand known for the power of honesty, vulnerability, empowerment, and transformation. Through all of this, Brian has managed to negotiate stepfatherhood, fatherhood, and a life dedicated to his family. He was the inspiration for me to start this podcast!

Leave Your Mark - The Cookie Monster Sol Orwell
play

05/23/23 • 71 min

In this episode, I speak with Sol Orwell. Sol is the Co-Founder of Examine, a web engine dedicated to clearing the mud off the windows of nutrition information, delivering nutrition practices you can trust.

Sol has a different story than most. Dabbling in web development while still in high school, he found he had a knack for building useful and popular websites. He incorporated his first business while studying computer engineering at the University of Toronto.
In his mid-20s, he opted to retire, freeing up time to do what he wanted, when he wanted. Transforming from fat to fit, he began to investigate the whys and hows behind nutrition, health, and fitness. This research led to Examine.com, the culmination of thousands of hours of research into anatomy and nutrition.
Ironically, in Sol's retirement, he reinvented his focus around food and used a knack for bringing people together around a cause to experiment with cookies. He began a multi-year experiment to find the greatest cookies and merge this passionate endeavor with fundraising. His story is indeed unique, and his mark clearly indelible. Enjoy!
