play

Brian Paradis is a senior partner with CSuite Solutions, a national strategic advisory firm. CSuite Solutions is led by former healthcare industry CEOs focused on the transition and practical strategies to move the healthcare industry from “volume to value.”

Previously, Paradis was president of Florida Hospital’s Central Region, a $4 billion enterprise with over 25,000 employees and 2,000 physicians. Under his leadership, Florida Hospital became the #1 ranked hospital in Florida by US News and World Report for three years. It is the largest hospital to receive the ISO 9001 quality certification and launched a new children’s hospital with an innovative collaboration with Walt Disney World.

Paradis’s understanding of the role of imagination in organizational leadership was used to develop a creative, results-oriented team based on a shared vision driven by a Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA). He co-chaired the American Heart Association’s Orlando Heart Walk for two years, which was the first Central Florida walk to raise over $1 million.

Paradis earned a BA in business administration from Southern Adventist University, Chattanooga, TN, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. Lead Culture with Jenni Catron - Episode 124 | Fnd Rest Now: An Interview with Jon Seidl
play

09/14/21 • 37 min

If we want to lead with all of who we are--heart, soul, mind, and strength--we must be able to first know who we are. And how we are. Though discussions about mental health are becoming more common, there's much to learn about leading through seasons that are fraught with anxiety. In this episode, Jenni talks with Jon Seidl about his own journey as a successful leader who also struggles with anxiety and OCD. Jon will help you not only attend to your own anxiety challenges, but he serves as a guide for how to walk with those you lead through mental health struggles.

About Jon:
Jonathon (Jon) M. Seidl has spent over a decade in digital media and is the founder and president of The Veritas Creative, a digital media consulting and content creation firm. Most recently he served as the managing editor of Kirk Cameron's TheCourage, where he oversaw content and material focused on faith, family, and culture. Before TheCourage, Seidl served as the editor-in-chief of I Am Second, a Christian non-profit that tells stories of incredible life transformation.

Previously, Jon worked as the managing editor of TheBlaze.com, a national news website. Jon's writing has appeared in WORLD magazine, online with the American Spectator, at FoxNews.com, and in nearly 6,000 posts at TheBlaze.

In 2016, Jon opened up for the first time about his mental health experience: He was diagnosed with anxiety and OCD in 2014. He has become an ardent supporter of mental health awareness and is especially a strong voice for how the Christian church can better handle the issue. His forthcoming book on the topic, Finding Rest: A Survivor’s Guide to Navigating the Valleys of Anxiety, Faith, and Life, will be released by Kregel Publishers in on September 28, 2021. However, in the pre-order period it has already become a #1 bestseller and #1 new release in several mental health categories on Amazon.

He graduated from The King's College-New York City with a degree in politics, philosophy, and economics, and spent a total of seven years living in New York City. Although he is a Green Bay Packers fanatic, he and his wife live in the Dallas, Texas, area with their daughter Annie Rose, son Jack Lewis (who is named after C.S.) and dogs Gus and Lulu.

Lead Culture with Jenni Catron - Episode 156 | On Mission to Outlast: An Interview with Brian Mosley
play

04/26/22 • 43 min

With each new season, the majority of new opportunities will not necessarily be a bad thing but are they always the best thing? When building and leading an organization to last throughout the generations, clear and consistent communication of your “why” and your “what” will empower your teams to “decide into something rather than slide into something” when it comes to the ever-changing “how”.

In this week's episode, Jenni has a conversation with Brian Mosley, President of RightNow Media. RightNow Media’s mission is to work with the global church to inspire people to love others before self and Christ above all. From creating video content, to RightNow Media @Work and events through online streaming, they exist to help people realize their God-given purpose of serving and loving others in a world that’s primarily concerned with selfish pursuits.

Maintaining a clear focus of the mission and values of your organization will enable healthy and consistent growth as you are better able to filter opportunities through the lens of who your organization serves and why it's important.

For a next step, check out our 4Sight: Culture Blindspot Assessment. This survey will help you discover where you should be investing your time and efforts to make a bigger impact in your team. Our free assessment will help you identify your biggest culture blind spot so your team can thrive.

JCLP Ep. 31 4 Ways to Lead Yourself

Lead Culture with Jenni Catron

11/12/19 • 22 min

We all want to achieve success. And there are markers and indicators that will help us to do just that. One of the chief of those is whether or not we will take the responsibility of leading ourselves well in order to plant ourselves on the path toward success. In this episode, Jenni Catron, 4Sight's Founder and CEO, disusses the ways in which we can invest in our own leadership, that will, in turn, benefit all those we are privileged to lead.
Jenni's book The 4 Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership
"There is a person with whom you spend more time than any other, a person who has more influence over you, and more ability to interfere with or to support your growth than anyone else. This ever-present companion is your own self." -Dr. Pamela Butler, Clinical Psychologist

Self-awareness is the foundation of leading ourselves well.

3 Core Elements of Self-awareness

  1. Awareness of myself
  2. Awareness of others
  3. Awareness of how others experience themselves around me

The 4 Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership

  1. Heart
  2. Soul
  3. Mind
  4. Strength

These dimensions comprise our whole self.

Leading from Your Heart

1) Lead with an understanding of who you are.

Things to consider:

• Do you see tasks or people first?

• Are you an introvert or extrovert? What gives you energy? Knowing this will help you

better manage your energy when you are with others.

• Are you independent or interdependent?

2) Learn how your experiences have shaped you.

3) The best of our leadership will emerge from emotional intelligence. This means

understanding your emotions, desires, and how you influence others.

Leading from Your Soul

The soul is the part of us that longs to know God. It’s the epicenter of morality, integrity, humility, and servanthood.

Leading from soul = what you value. A key part of self-awareness is understanding what you value - what’s truly important to you.

Understanding your values is the key to learning what drives you.

  • What are your values and what is their source? What are your core motivations and convictions? What is your driving ‘why’?
  • Take time to reflect, and recognize any patterns present in your behavior... how you manage your time, your priorities or decisions. What does your calendar tell you that you value?
  • Consider your values in every sector of life: relationally, physically, spiritually and professionally. What principles do you stand on in each of these areas of life?
  • Your actions, decisions, conversations and behaviors are all driven by what you value.
  • Why do you handle conflict the way you do?
  • What is the root behind how you make decisions?
  • Why do certain conversations excite you and others drain you?
  • Consider your character and integrity – what is true and what do you want to be true? What needs to change so that your reality and aspirations are congruent? What morals do you live by and how does that impact your influence. How do you want people to see you? What do you want to be known for? Wh

Lead Culture with Jenni Catron - Episode 62 | How to Lead In the Face of Fear

Episode 62 | How to Lead In the Face of Fear

Lead Culture with Jenni Catron

07/28/20 • 18 min

In her book Feel the Fear...and Do It Anyway, Susan Jeffers shares 3 categories of fear: Level 1 includes fear of what happens to us or requires action from us, Level 2 involves fears that are inner states of mind like rejection or vulnerability, and Level 3 contains fear that we can't handle what comes our way or that we are not enough. If we're honest, the current state in which we're leading has us experiencing all 3 of those categories of fear. Between the ramifications of the pandemic, racial injustice and political divisiveness, the uncertainty can feel like too much. So HOW do we keep from giving into the fears we face as we seek to lead well? Jenni Catron explores answers to this important question in today's episode.
In this episode, you'll learn...

  • what you sacrifice when you lead from a place of fear
  • how fear impacts your influence
  • what scripture says about being afraid
  • how to confront fear with truth
  • how to exchange fear for faith

For more on this and other ways to unleash your God-given influence, read Jenni's book Clout.

Lead Culture with Jenni Catron - JCLP EP. 39--3 Mindsets You Must Embrace to Make Culture Work
play

01/21/20 • 21 min

As leaders, there are times we have to think differently to lead better. There are some mindsets that we simply MUST embrace if we want the culture we’re leading toward to actually permeate the organization. And these mindsets involve getting honest with ourselves about whether or not we’ve given in to a common fallacy:  the idea that culture should be gleaned through osmosis - an effortless, unconscious assimilation.

Some highlights and key points from Jenni's teaching:

  1. Shaping the culture for your team is arguably the most important work you’ll do. You can’t accomplish your mission without a team that is aligned and working effectively together.
  2. Culture is not an episodic event of writing value statements, displaying them and hoping they catch on. Culture is living and breathing and needs your attention every day.
  3. Both the organization and a new employee have a responsibility in helping the new employee succeed in the culture.

She also explores the Employee Life Cycle that William Vanderbloemen defines in his book Culture Wins. There are some incredible applications to make concerning culture at each stage in the Employee Life Cycle--places like hiring, daily and monthly rhythms, review processes.

Jenni provides a series of guiding questions to ask yourself as you consider truly embedding team culture that will align your team and lead to organizational success.
