Join Up Dots - Business Coaching Made Easy (With A Bit Of Life Coaching Too)
How Do You Take Fun And Improvisation Into The Biz World My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man after 20 years of performing hundreds of improv comedy shows across the country has learned that the same principles that apply to improv comedy also apply to business, mental, and leadership skills .As an author, speaker, coach, improv comedian, and the Founder of Live Yes And!, he as been helping businesses and athletes apply the cornerstone improv mindset-“YES, And! To succeed in life and business for the last 10 years. In the world of improvisation, “YES, And” means accepting whatever is being given to you, and then responding and building on that reality. Most of us live life in denial – saying “no” to reality. This leads to a life unfulfilled and lived in fear. Living “YES,And” is about accepting and embracing everything that is happening–even the bad stuff! Why? Because good or bad, the only way to move forward is by facing it and moving through it. As a professional public speaker and coach, he has trained thousands of people and dozens of organizations like the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, University of Georgia Football, US Soccer, Gatorade, PepsiCo, and Under Armour on the principles of improvisation and how developing a “YES,And” mindset will help create an engaged, creative, collaborative, and healthier life and work place. So was this a dawning realisation that his skills could be transferred into more and more lucrative areas, or a "God i need some more cash what can I do quickly?" route? And why are so many people frightened of "Yes" when it always brings some potential for growth in their lives? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Travis Thomas Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Travis Thomas such as: Why the concept of "Yes, And" was born from a desire to prove support and mindset to the corporate world which can lead to the kind of success that are required everywhere. Travis shares how throughout his journey there have been times when quite frankly he didn't have a clue...but that's ok. You can always figure things out. We discuss how the best comedy isn't about finding the joke, but is instead finding the truth. The connection with reality is where real humour is formed. and lastly.... Why sometimes, no matter how positive you are as an individual you have to wallow in your despair. You have to sit in the goo ready for the big transformation to occur.

Starting An Online Business

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the Founder + Designer of a brilliant company called Craft Street Design She 100% turned her life around to create a 6 figure business in 6 months designing quotes to hang in your house. And now she is on a mission to help us all achieve our goals, be happy, and pass on the inspiration to everyone around the world through her designs. And I think it is the truth to say that she needed this inspiration before everyone else, and the message needed to be learnt before she could ever start to give back to the world. As she says "A few years back I was making six-figure income, was working for my dream company (Apple) and had a flexible work schedule. In spite of all this, I was miserable. To make things worse one day, my 10 yr old daughter said, “ Mommy you are just not nice when you come back from your job”. That was a wake up call. I wanted to make a change. I wanted to be happy. I wanted to be a good mom. But I didn’t know how." So how do you do this? How do you find the light to move through a bad arranged marriage, a life that wasn't making you happy to the point of suicidal thoughts, and no clue as to the future. Well today's guest found that route through five words on her kitchen wall, and that is the perfect point to start today's episode of Join Up Dots. So is Craft Street Design the business she has always wanted to have, or just another dot towards the big deam that is waiting for her? And why is it that we all allow ourselves to feel such despair when the world is literally screaming "Here is the future....do you want it or not??" all around us? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Pratima Aravabhoomi Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Pratima Aravabhoomi such as: Why Donald trump might just be the kind of leader that the country was waiting for, although he might just well be the worst too. How she created her first business, and the dramatic fail of of not making one single sale of the product. Pratima shared openly how she would balance her time with her daughter, and the measures she takes to ensure she enjoys her life away from her business and lastly.... The hustle, and persistence it takes to start any business off, which frightens so many people away from creating their dream-lives.

Education Made Fun

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who first connected with the show as a listener. However once she told me about her dreams for the future, the hustle she is showing daily, and how she wants to change the lives of millions of children across the world then she wasn't going to be only a listener anymore. This is a lady who is moving forward to where she wants to be by hook or by crook. As she says "I was very dyslexic as a child, and rather failed at school, until the last year when I worked out a system to remember things. After lots of hard work I finally made it to a Producer Director and ended up winning a film documentary award at ceremony where the BBCs classic programmes Blue Planet and Office also won. Then I went on and created, produced & directed the longest running show on MTV uk which is still loved by teenagers and all skate boarders around the world. My children must never know I was involved in it! However at this point i felt it was time to take some time out, so I slowed down to raise my 3 children as TV work and children aren't a good combination. Which lead med to my passion project. " The work that will be her legacy is called Table Fables, which has been created to help children everywhere learn their times tables in a fun and enjoyable way, against the classic repeat in a drone until you fall into a coma method TABLE FABLES are fun memorable short stories that teach children the times tables by giving them a hook to remember the answers. Children remember the numbers by recalling the funny story, with their mantra being LEARN FUNNY. The technique is based on the peg memory system, which gives children the ability to remember the numerical position of items on a list, in or out of sequence. The peg system has been proven to be one of the most effective memory aids used to date. Each number, from 1 to 12, is represented by a character. Two characters (e.g. 8 Snowman & 3 mouse) interact to create a funny, short story, which reveals the answer. This has already helped hundreds of children already and hopefully millions more in the future. So what gave her the idea to start helping children across the world, her own childhood struggles or simply a business opportunity? And where have the been the key areas of growth that our listeners can duplicate in their own online ventures? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Rebecca Ginger Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Rebecca Ginger such as: Rebecca shares how the idea for Tables Fables first came to due to the difficulties her own children were having with learning. We discuss why the validation of others was such an important part of the growth process of her business. Belief fosters belief all the way. Rebecca reveals how powerful Upwork was for her business by finding affordable talent that helped grow her business quickly. and lastly.... We both reveal why our own childhoods education was less than inspiring, and why the world is changing for the better in our kids lives.
