JBs Powercast Ep.14 - Industry News, Special Guest Interview with Kimberly Reeves owner of Castrol Raceway
05/01/20 • 61 min
Welcome to our 14th episode of the JB's Powercast
Today on the podcast;
- Corey and Adel cover the latest industry news
- NASCAR resumes its season May 17 with accelerated schedule
- The first Motorsports series to make its official return to running a season will be NASCAR, opening back up their races across the country starting May 17. This includes a rapid run of races, 7 races in 10 days.
- Safety is still the top priority for organizers, competitors and the public and for that reason, the races will be moving forward without fans attending. They will be staffed by essential workers and crew and full social distancing along with face masks are being enforced. So for now, this will be NASCAR seen from home... But at least it’s a step in the right direction for getting racing back on the pavement.

- Ken Block's Newest Car Is a Modernized Fox-Body Mustang With a Rally-Spec AWD System
- Ken Block has a new car on the way, and it's called the Hoonifox, based on a Fox-body Mustang. There are WRC-inspired boxed fenders, plenty of air scoops, a couple of badass side-exit exhaust pipes, a massive wing out back, and of course, plenty of louvers. It's one of the coolest Fox bodies we've ever seen. Leaning even more into Block's rally obsession, the Hoonifox will use a "rally-spec" all-wheel-drive system. Like most of Block's other cars, it'll likely be built to go sideways. Hoonigan has yet to decide on a power plant for the car, but says possible candidates include the electric drive train from a Mustang Mach-E.

- Georgia suspends required driving test to get Driver’s Licenses
- In another attempt to enforce social distancing and limit physical proximity to others, the state of Georgia has decided to suspend the need for taking a driving test for new drivers to get their licenses.
- Adel welcomes special guest Kimberly Reeves, owner of Castrol Raceway.
Kimberly joins Adel to discuss the 2020 Race Season at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton Alberta, the impact that COVID-19 is having on planning the season and what Racer’s and Fans can expect once the season be permitted to get under way.
