S3E6 - A Discussion on Diversity with Damon Jones of Burke
We have a great episode of Intellicast for you! One of our favorite guests, Damon Jones, Vice President of Telephone Operations at Burke, joins us for a second time. He and Brian are both involved in the Great Lakes Chapter of the Insight Association and are both members of the Diversity and Education Committee. They discuss how Damon got started with the Insights Association and his roles he has held over the last 18 years with the organization. The conversation then turns towards the Diversity and Education Committee, and the importance of diversity within market research, and how that topic shined at the recent GLC Winter Meeting. Damon also talks about the diversity initiatives that are going on at Burke. This topic is something that Damon is truly passionate about, and as you listen to this episode his passion for this topic will truly shine through. At the 30-minute mark, we switch gears and discuss another topic that Damon is passionate about, Cincinnati sports, specifically the Bengals. We talk Joe Burrow, what it could mean for fans and the city, and what should happen with a couple of other free agents. The guys then dive into Cincinnati sports in general, talking about both the Red and FC Cincinnati. This is an awesome episode you don’t want to miss! Welcome back to Intellicast! In this week’s episode, Brian Lamar sits down with Jeremy Zogby, Partner at John Zogby Strategies. Jeremy talks about growing up surrounded by polling and politics, and how he knew he was going to work with his Dad, but took nine years to pursue teaching first. Brian and Jeremy then talk about what it was like for Jeremy to live in Prague, and the cultural differences he noticed, and how it has helped him later in his career. The conversation then turns to polling. They discuss the types of polling projects John Zogby Strategies works on during election season, not just around candidates, but also issues and how issues impact other areas. Jeremy also discusses what the future may hold for the organization. He also gives us some history of the Zogby organization, in what he says, “you won’t find on Wikipedia.” It is really interesting. Brian and Jeremy then discuss the 2020 election, the Democratic field, and who can bring the excitement factor that both Obama and Trump brought over the last few elections. The conversation then switches gears to podcasts, where Brian and Jeremy discuss Jeremy’s new podcast called The Zogby Report. They talk about how it got started, the tone and approach to politics it takes, and what their goals are for it going forward.
