Episode 46 SOCIAL ANXIETY - What Is It And What You Can Do About It?
01/31/25 • 31 min
Do you find it hard to manage social situations?
Do you struggle with social anxiety?
Do you avoid social situations because they make you feel anxious?
Social anxiety is a common issue that I treat with my patients. It can affect children, teenagers and adults. Social anxiety can stop you from trying to make friends, limit your social life, prevent you from getting into a relationship and leave you feeling lonely and isolated. It can also mean you missing out on significant events like weddings, parties and family gatherings.
In this episode I talk about why social anxiety happens and what goes on in your brain when you have social anxiety as an issue. As ever, this podcast is all about hope and I discuss ways that you can manage the issue of social anxiety and stop this from holding you back from living the life you want to live.
I'm an adolescent and adult chartered psychologist for the past two decades. This is a completely free and independant podcast, non-sponsored and ad-free to support you with your mental health. Please support this podcast by sharing and rating it. We all have issues, so let's talk about them.
