HVAC 360 - H3-065 Radiant Cooling

H3-065 Radiant Cooling

HVAC 360
This week on HVAC 360 we talk to Devin Abellon of Uponor about Radiant Cooling. This is a technology that does not get selected for projects a lot but I feel that we need to still understand this system when we do run into it or find a situation where it does have a good fit. I hope you learn something from this episode and if you do find it interesting please share it with someone else. Enjoy.

H3-064 ICC Commissioning Accreditation

The week on HVAC 360 we have a very hot topic for you and this involves standards that are being proposed by the ICC that effect all of the current commissioning certification programs. We have Gerry Kettler talking to us today as a member of the ICC committee and also as someone who is heavily involved in the commissioning standards for ASHRAE. One thing to keep in mind is that this standard is out for public comment until mid-May so get your two cents in and if you think anyone else is interested, forward the show and have them comment as well. Hope you like this topic, if you do let me know, Enjoy.

H3-066 LEED Basis of Design

This week on HVAC 360 I talk about the LEED Basis of Design. Starting from definitions from ASHRAE Guideline 0 and LEEDUser, I share what I feel makes a good Basis of Design. I also share my perspective on how the design team should view this document going forward. To many view this document as an added burden of the LEED process where I suggest that teams integrate this into their Standard of Care and make it a part of doing business. Allowing the BOD to be a tool that makes sure that they have all the information they need and that they are headed in the right direction. It can also be used as a training tool for younger engineers and a way to integrate firm practices further into their projects. As with many things the importance of this document is just to start now. It can always be changed and often times large portions of it can be reused. If you like this episode, please share and spread the word. Thanks in advance. Enjoy.
