How To Not Get Sick And Die - Binge Eating and Feeding your Inner Pig with Psychologist Glenn Livingston Ph.D | EP 96

Binge Eating and Feeding your Inner Pig with Psychologist Glenn Livingston Ph.D | EP 96

09/29/20 • 60 min

How To Not Get Sick And Die

Are you savage to yourself? Or, are you nurturing? Which one of these has been effective... either or none? A surprisingly unique approach to binge eating is going deep into your reptilian brain and speaking like our core evolutionary driver should be spoken to: directly and savagely. As discussed in today’s episode, with a psychologist that has been deep in this exact challenge before, the self love movement doesn’t quite capture everyone in their quest to curb a detrimental relationship with high sugar and high carb foods and there is a reason for that: the reptilian brain, by definition, does not contain love and so for many self love is simply the wrong tool. This was a superb deep dive into the function of our brain and emotions and is loaded with tips and tricks to facilitate your transformation, so if that sounds good listen in all the way to the end as we touch on some tools specifically relevant to this current and unique chapter in history.

In Today’s Episode We Cover:

  • Brain function and being the alpha
  • How to disempower the motivators of your inner pig
  • Tools to improve your eating behaviours, particularly during an existential crisis

The Metabolic Approach to Cancer with Dr. Nasha Winters | EP 95

Nutrient or toxin... which one do you choose? Seems simply right? When you’re a cancer patient in the mainstream system you don’t get a choice, you’re very quickly knees deep in toxic therapy, and hey, sometimes toxic lives require toxic treatment, but often, increased toxic load doesn’t produce highly favourable outcomes. Not to mention that types of foods that we put into our body and not in fact really nutrition and thus they add to the toxic load... what a rabbit hole right? Well you are in the right place as Dr Nasha Winters and I unpack a few of the approaches cancer therapy which do not add toxic burden to the body and can be used, even alongside conventional therapy to enhance its effects at a lesser dose - amazing right!

In This Episode We Cover:

  • The Warburg Effect and why conventional therapy doesn’t really engage this hallmark of cancer
  • How your metabolism works and how to develop metabolic flexibility
  • Why low carb, keto and intermittent fasting are powerful therapeutic agents

Meat Myths and Regenerative Farming with Diana Rogers RD | EP 97

Which type of emotions come up for you when you hear “meat” or “cows”... Many people have an emotional response for a list of reasons. Unfortunately there seems to be this romantic delusion of how life and death happens in nature, often by city based dwellers, or those entirely removed from the process of how food is obtained, processed and created, or simply how nature behaves when left to its own devices. In this episode with Diana Rogers we go deep on the topics that surround meat, death and how future generations will be able to keep being strong, smart and evolving: Regenerative Agriculture. Oh, and plus, Diana and Rob Wolf’s new Book and Film: Sacred Cow.

In This Episode We Cover:

  • Vegan and Vegetarian perspectives and supplementation
  • Why meat is a superior fuel source
  • The simple fact all biological organisms must die (and our denial of that truth)
