Ep 26: Fighting For What’s Right With Former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair
12/18/23 • 31 min
It’s been a crazy year for interest rates, banks, and mortgage rates. Thankfully, we’ve avoided a recession this year, and about 61% of economists say it's probably not going to happen in the next 12 months. But still, things are a bit scary. And while it’s not nearly as bad, most of us can remember how scary the 2008 financial crisis was. It was the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression in 1929.
Sheila Bair, the former Chair of the FDIC helped navigate us through the 2008 economic crisis and rang the warning bells when no one else was listening. She joins us today to talk about why she doesn’t think what happened then would ever repeat itself. We also chat about her new series of books for kids called “Money Tales” and her mission to teach children early to protect their hard-earned cash.
