69. What Is A Narcissistic Family? (Part One)

04/25/22 • 41 min

Dear Little Me
How to escape a narcissistic family.Teresa grew up in a family she describes as narcissistic. Growing up was hard. This family was all about appearances and Teresa was struggling big time. Struggling with what was expected of her. Struggling with manipulation, gaslighting. And struggling with being undiagnosed neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. Teresa's parents had started down the path of getting her a diagnosis for autism but pulled out. Teresa believes her family felt the diagnosis wouldn't fit with the image they wanted to portray to the world. Teresa's parents felt she just needed to get involved with 'normal' things and she would be fine. In all those years Teresa was never able to be her true self. It was suffocating and damaging and Teresa came to a point in her life where she realised she needed to cut ties with her family for her own mental wellbeing. 68. The Reason We Judge Other People

How does judgement affect us?

Whether you are judging or being judged, JUDGEMENT is a deeply ingrained part of our lives. At every level. We are judged by others from a very young age. We are taught to judge. It is generational and so we barely even notice we are doing it. Judgement is destructive and it keeps us small and stops us from being our true selves.
