في الحلقة الأولى من مدونة حوار الصوتية نستضيف الفنان السوري علي قاف الذي تحدث إلينا عن مشروعه الفني بأبعاده الفلسفية والتقنية.
سُجلت الحلقة بتاريخ ١٩ سبتمبر أيلول ٢٠٢٣ من إعداد وتقديم رهام قنوت رفاعي.
عن الفنان:
وُلد قاف في مدينة وهران الجزائرية عام 1977، وتخرّج من معهد الفنون الجميلة في بيروت، وأكمل دراسته في جامعة الفنون في برلين تحت إشراف الفنانين مروان قصاب باشي وريبيكا هورن.
تستهوي علي وسائط وتقنيات مختلفة، فيعبر باللوحة والنحت والفيديو والتجهيز عن أفكارٍ وتأملات فلسفية في مفاهيم عدة كالحضور والغياب والمادة والفراغ والموروث الثقافي والهوية الفنية.
‫أعمال علي مقتناة في متاحف ومؤسسات فنية عربية وعالمية، وله العديد من المعارض الفردية والجماعية والإقامات الفنية.

In the first episode of the Hiwar podcast, we speak to the Syrian artist Ali Kaaf about his art's philosophical and technical dimensions.

About the artist:
Born in 1977 in Oran, Algeria, Ali Kaaf graduated from the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Beirut and continued his studies at Universität der Künste in Berlin under the supervision of professors Marwan Kassab Bachi and Rebecca Horn.
Ali is drawn to different mediums and techniques. Through painting, sculpture, video, and installation, he expresses philosophical ideas and reflections on concepts such as presence and absence, matter and space, cultural heritage, and artistic identity.
Ali's works are in collections of Arab and international museums and art institutions, and he has numerous solo and group exhibitions and artistic residencies.

عن الفنانة:

خديجة بكر فنانة متعددة التخصصات من أصل كردي سوري، مقيمة في مونتريال، وعضوة أساسية في مركز التاريخ الشفهي والقصص الرقمية في جامعة كونكورديا.

تبحث أعمالها التجهيزية في موضوعات اجتماعية وسياسية تتمحور حول مشاعر القلق وعدم اليقين في المنزل والوطن من حيث صلتهما بالاضطهاد والهوية والتهجير والذاكرة.

تقدم أعمالها المتعددة التخصصات، من فن النسيج والنحت والوسائط المتعددة، مساحات من التعاطف والفهم الأعمق عن طريق سرد القصص الأداء التشاركي.

أقامت بكر معارض فردية عدة في صالات ومؤسسات عدة في جميع أنحاء كندا، وشاركت في العديد من المعارض المشتركة حول العالم.

In the second episode of the Hiwar podcast, we speak to artist Khadija Baker about her art's political and humanitarian dimensions.

The episode was recorded on November 16, 2023. It is prepared and presented by Reham Kannout Alrefaie.
About the artist:

Khadija Baker is a Montreal-based, multidisciplinary artist of Kurdish-Syrian descent. She is also a core member of the Centre for Oral History & Digital Storytelling (COHDS) at Concordia University.

Her installations investigate social and political themes centered on the uncertainty of home and homeland as they relate to persecution, identity, displacement, and memory. Her multi-disciplinary installations (textile, sculpture, audio/video) involve participative storytelling and performance to create active spaces of empathy and greater understanding.

Baker has held several solo exhibitions in galleries and institutions across Canada, and has participated in many joint exhibitions around the world.
