Here is a little about Katie:
Katie is a seventh-generation Oklahoman who is truly Sooner born and Sooner bred. In the fall of 2012, she was the first member of her family to join Pi Beta Phi. During college she served in leadership roles both within Pi Phi and on Campus Activities Council. She graduated from OU in December 2015 with a degree in Health & Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Health Promotion in 2017. Her graduate research focused on sleep behavior in college students, and she’s been published in the Journal of Health Behavior Research and Translational Behavior Medicine. Katie absolutely loves her job on campus as a Health Promotion Coordinator, Pre-Health Professions professor for first year students, Personal Health instructor, and fitness instructor on campus. She believes that teaching young people how to live healthy lives now and for their future is both the most challenging and rewarding job in Oklahoma. She is a certified health education specialist and studying for her Master’s Certification exam this spring. Outside of work, Katie volunteers with Pi Beta Phi on the undergraduate scholarship committee and as a critical conversation facilitator where she travels to college campuses in the US to lead conversations about topics like sexual assault, alcohol skills, and mental health. She lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Evan and dog Duke.-

She has partnered with car dealerships to give her students the skill of how to change a tire and emotional learning in the classroom. She is known as Oklahoma’s Ms. Frizzle and strives to make an impact everywhere she goes.
