I am blessed to live in a neighborhood where we all look out for each other. One of my neighbors has lived in the neighborhood for over 35 years. Larry has served our country in the armed forces and his wife Lucy is a sweet soul. They love their grand kids, backyard barbeques, and serving their church community, but aging impacts us all. When Lucy needed help, rather than calling an ambulance and heading to the ER and incurring exorbitant hospital bills, she called Dispatch Health, a mobile urgent care company. They sent a team of providers to care for Lucy in the comfort of her home, providing her the care she needed...on her terms.

I get asked all the time what are healthcare disruptors? I am here to break it down and provide some easy to understand examples to better understand how they may benefit you

Meet Jaqueline G. Austin Texas:

“My name is Jacqueline and I’m a 19-year-old college student from Austin, Texas. Last year, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing (Ankielosing) Spondylitis, an autoimmune disorder that primarily affects my spine and has spread to most of my major joints. Without expensive biologic medications, my spine could fuse and leave me unable to walk by the time I’m out of school. I’ve tried three different biologics and have had to pay incredibly high prices for all of them, even when they haven’t helped my condition. I live in constant worry about how I will be able to afford my expensive medications, my tuition, my rent, and my groceries at the same time.”

In this episode, we are going to discuss briefly what are a few of the issues resulting in the outrageous pricing for prescription medications, and then we are going to talk about a solution with Cost Plus Drugs.
Prescription drug prices are out of control. Drug corporations have the monopoly on pricing power...spending billions to get the laws and regulating that benefit them and not you.
What You Will Learn:

  • The Issues: What is causing the exorbitant costs for prescription drug costs.
  • The Solution: Cost Plus Drugs - Get Your Medications at a Discount.
  • Cost Plus Drugs: How It Works For You.

People may find the process of Open Enrollment challenging. According to a survey I recently reviewed, health benefits choices can be difficult to understand. More than half of survey participants say reading Shakespeare is easier than reading their health insurance policy. I agree!

When it comes to health care, 40 percent of survey respondents admit that they don't know what they should be looking for or the other 60 percent don't know what questions to ask.

Given a desire for better health and the cost of monthly premiums we must make this process better.
What You Will Learn:

  1. Acquiring Healthcare Insurance...the timelines and options.
  2. The Marketplace and how you can get care
  3. Reviewing the plans
  4. Financial options to lower your premiums
