Game Over Beer

Hello and welcome to Season 2, episode 5 of Game Over Beer with Joe Dowling
It’s a simple format on this podcast, our guests will choose 3 beers and 3 games and tell us why they mean so much to them.

I’d like to start by saying a huge thank you to our returning partner, Four Quarters, they are the UK’s original arcade bar and home to authentic retro arcade machines and consoles and you can find them in London, Bristol and Newcastle.

Also, a huge thank you to our new partner We Are Beer, they put on some of the best craft beer festivals across the UK in Bristol, Manchester and London and if you use code GameOverBeer, you’ll get £10 off.

Now, on to our guest, Joe Dowling

Joe is one of the original founders of Four Quarters where he is currently the brand manager. He was the former owner of Retro Game Base (a retro games shop in Streatham which existed from 2012-17.
And he is a fiction writer, his most recent novel is Mandate 13, check out his novel here and keep up to date with any future releases

We spoke about a game that in part inspired his writing, a brewery he believes is current the best in the UK, and a game that will have you all running on to your switch and getting the NES emulator going.

A reminder to listeners that I'm using this podcast to help raise funds for mental health charities, so if you'd like to support the podcast and donate to a worth cause, please head to Ko-fi.com/gameoverbeer.

Last season we raised over £500 pounds, which went to the Disaster Emergency Committee to help the people of Ukraine.
