S1 Ep5: Game Over Beer with Ben Nother
02/27/22 • 47 min
Hello and welcome to another ever episode of Game Over Beer!
It’s a simple format on Game Over Beer, our guests will choose 3 beers and 3 games and tell us why they mean so much to them.
Now, joining us this week on Game Over Beer is Ben Nother.
He is an Architect with a young family by day and a gamer / craft beer wanker (his words) by night .
He started getting more into beer around 6 years ago which led to starting the Tanked Up podcast, all about beer and video games, and then running outoflives.net a hobbyist entertainment website.
We talk about a game we loved to play with our mates while pre-drinking at uni, a series of beers that defined a moment for us both in the UK craft beer scene, and a game that - had I started playing this franchise - I would have definitely had to re-do my 2nd year like one of my friends did because of playing this game.
I'm using this podcast to help raise funds for mental health charities, so if you'd like to support the podcast and donate to a worth cause, please head to Ko-fi.com/gameoverbeer
If you have a moment, please follow us on Instagram and Twitter at @GameOverBeer and please share with any of your game-loving, beer-drinking friends!
I'd also love any feedback you have on the podcast, plus if you have any comments on the beers and games Ben picks, let me know on the socials above or by email: gameoverbeerpodcast[at]gmail.com
I’d also like to say a big thank to our official partners, Four Quarters, the UK’s original arcade bar. Home to authentic retro arcade machines and consoles. If you love beer and video games, please check them out at www.fourquarters.bar.

S1 Ep4: Game Over Beer with Robin LeBlanc
Hello and welcome to another ever episode of Game Over Beer!
It’s a simple format on Game Over Beer, our guests will choose 3 beers and 3 games and tell us why they mean so much to them.
Now, joining us this week on Game Over Beer is Robin LeBlanc,
She is an award-winning beer columnist, author, and podcaster with over a decade of experience in writing about the ins and outs of the beer world.
In addition to her regular contributions in multiple publications, she currently works as a beer columnist for Metroland Media and is the co-host of the Ontario Craft Beer Guide The Podcast.
We talk briefly about the beer scene in Canada, compared to the UK and US, before moving on to some classic beer selections and one of Robin’s game selections, which I’m pretty sure would have been on my list, so we geek out on that for a bit!

S1 Ep6: Game Over Beer with Sarah Wellock
Hello and welcome to another ever episode of Game Over Beer!
It’s a simple format on Game Over Beer, our guests will choose 3 beers and 3 games and tell us why they mean so much to them.
Now, joining us this week on Game Over Beer is Sarah Wellock.
Sarah is Senior PR at the video game company ATLUS and works on the RGG Yakuza series too. She is our first guest that is coming at this from the world of gaming and not from working in craft beer. I’m very much looking forward to getting more people on the show who like Sarah work in the gaming industry
We talk about some of the first beers Sarah tried when she moved into London, when she first started "craft beering". We chat about a genre of gaming I have little to no knowledge on, which was fascinating , and finally, we talk about a game that I was and still am, too much of a wuss to play...but if enough people get behind it, I may stream myself playing this game for charity!
So, Without further a do, join Sarah and I as we Game Over Beer!
