Front Office Features
Chris rides solo for the first time ever as our good buddy Rob is ensuring the WooSox Ballpark is all set for Opening Day next week. If you have a moment, send him a message and let him know you are thinking of him with all the stress he is dealing with for the THIRD time. Chris speaks directly to the upcoming graduating class and congratulates them on their amazing accomplishment and reminds them to stay on course to land their dream role. Too many people succumb to the pressure from friends, professors, or parents to take the first role offered to them to appease others. Trust you gut, take your time, and let the good come to you. You've invested 22 years of your life to get to this point, don't start down the wrong path because someone has told you "this is the right way." Plus we are going to begin having volunteers join us to discuss their journey and share what obstacles they have encountered along the process thanks to a great suggestion from Sam Marteka. Chris also goes behind the scenes and provides the anatomy on a sponsorship deal that he was able to land today after TWO years of initial outreach.

Overcoming Nepotism in your Sports Career

SPECIAL CO-HOST ALERT! Rob is off doing his day job and breaking the news to WooSox season ticket holders around Opening Day protocols. Returning guest, Brian Specia fills in admirably with Chris as the two old friends pick up where they left off. Chris quickly touches on the "Super League" that came and went in the blink of an eye while watching the Red Sox vs Mets in the background. Poor DeGrom. Brian and Chris dive into the NFL draft which airs tonight and the amazing power behind the event as it has evolved throughout the years. Chris knows one of Brian's pet peeves is the nepotism that happens in our industry and how it can negatively affect an organization. Chris explains how Fenway Sports is now hoping to combat this with new policies geared towards helping diversity. Brian provides great insight into the world of expansion and talks about what is happening with the Kracken and his own experience and days in Vegas. Chris closes the loop on Owl Gate.

Inside the Sports Job Interview Process

Chris rides solo again as Rob has Game 2 of his 12 game homestand. We hear a great story about the WooSox Opening Day ceremony that featured a 92 year old Bob Cousy quite literally stealing the show. As promised, we have Sam Marteka join us to take us behind the scenes on his current job search as he gets ready to graduate from Syracuse in a few weeks. Sam shares some the mistakes he has made along the way and how he continually is improving his process. While he still hasn't landed his dream role, we are pretty confident if he stays on his path, it will be a matter of when and not if. Chris reminds everyone that working in sports is a privilege and to ensure you take some time to remember the next few weeks when you land your first role in this great industry. Rob is back next week with more details on the WooSox Opening Day and all of his obstacles to get there.
