September 8, 2017 the second game of Trenton's senior football season, Hills-Beaver Creek was playing in Mountain Lake, MN, about two hours away from Hills. With 90 seconds left to play, they were up 28 to 20. The other team had the ball and they were marching down the field. Trenton was on defense and went to the outside of the field to go around a blocker and came around to tackle the running back who was coming from the opposite way. Trenton dove for his legs to tackle him. Trenton's head got in front of his leg and the force of his thigh came across his helmet from the opposite direction. Trenton immediately went to the ground. As he was laying there, he realized that he could not move anything.
To hear the rest of Trenton's story of tragedy turned to perseverance and strength - please tune in to his incredible story!!

Allen Peratt, Sr. is a pastor, chaplain and cancer survivor whose story has taken him through abuse, addiction, military service, trauma, loss, imprisonment, and eventually, salvation.
From the moment he was born on April Fools Day of 1948, it was clear he would face many challenges. Pastor Al's earliest years were marked by abuse, time spent in foster homes, and his parents struggles with alcoholism. As a teenager, he and his family became Christians, and Al eventually began attending seminary. His own struggles with alcoholism took over and he was expelled from seminary and turned away from his faith, eventually falling into a lifestyle of addiction and crime that would ultimately land him in prison.
Through his unlikely journey, Al found his way back to God. He has devoted the later years of his life to helping others through Christ!

Hello and welcome to Fortitude...I am your host Heather Kittelson! I am a small town girl from MN who bleeds love and admiration for others, especially those who have gone through really tough stuff and yet live today to tell their stories of hope and Fortitude.

This podcast is all about spotlighting individual stories of overcoming adversity and pain...one story at a time.

Our brave guests will be sharing their personal stories of addiction, lose of a child, incarceration, abortion, suicide, human trafficking, war, gang affiliation, corporate corruption, divorce, sexual abuse, and disease. The list goes on and on people - adversity does not discriminate or show prejudice - we are all one body here to serve and love one another - especially through the really tough stuff.

Stick with me and I promise you will find hope through the darkest of times because when you experience pain and adversity with Fortitude - that’s where healing begins.

On the very first episode - I will be sharing my personal story of over coming generational alcoholism, suicidal thoughts, divine intervention and what life can look like with whole lot of determination and grit. My hope for each listener is that God will spark something in your soul to take action - if not for yourself than for someone close to you that may be going through a tough season.

There is no doubt that we are all in this together - its time we start acting like it!I am super exited to have you along for the ride - so...let’s do this thing!
