The Scoop on Sugar Cravings, Protein and Intermittent Fasting with Katherine Kimber
04/20/23 • 48 min
This week I am joined by the wonderful Katherine Kimber, founder of Nude Nutrition and registered dietitian and Intuitive Eating counsellor.
Katherine and her team are on a mission to strip back on nutrition nonsense and help women AND men find a happy, healthy, trusting and freeing relationship with food and their bodies.
In my community, questions around sugar cravings arise daily. With so much misinformation across social media and other media channels, I want to do a deep dive with Katherine on sugar, protein, intermittent fasting and what the heck to eat before and after a workout.
Is sugar addictive?
What are the benefits and drawbacks of intermittent fasting for women?
What should I eat before and after a workout?
Can Intuitive Eating help me lose weight?
Katherine and her team work 1 to 1 with clients, offer workshops, self paced and interactive courses and are aimed at those who feel stuck with food, those who experience eating disorders, disordered eating, and generally challenging relationships with food and their bodies.
Katherine hangs out mainly on instagram, sometimes on facebook and you can find out more about her work here.
Please reach out if you would like some support with your relationship to food OR movement. Ela currently has limited spaces for Intuitive Eating coaching and if you'd like to reconnect with movement, contact Christine.
AND if you enjoyed this episode, please share and follow the 'Find Your Strong podcast' and if you have time, write us a short review. It would honestly mean the world. Love to you all, Ela & Christine x

How to stop holding yourself back from life with Shannon Hennig
Shannon Hennig is an absolute warrior.
Shannon identifies as a fat fitness coach and has multiple chronic health conditions, including heart failure and type II diabetes! (as well as surviving years of chronic dieting....)
She empowers her clients to believe in themselves, meet and beat their own expectations and to reacquaint themselves with movement and their bodies.
She tells her story and we delve into survival, the joys and benefits of strength training and functional fitness and how we can stop letting diet culture hold us back from truly living in this world.
We talk about recovery after a period of serious illness, the first steps back to strength and how to keep your head up when you are faced with adversity.
I loved this conversation and know you will too.
Shannon offers in person training (if you're anywhere near Calgary, Alberta) and online PT through her app. Find out more here.
Shannon also has a Happy Body, Happy Life facebook group but mainly hangs out on Instagram.
If you liked the podcast, please follow and leave me a review. It would mean the world to me and would enable me to keep bringing you amazing guests such as Shannon each and every week.
THANK YOU for being here.

How to stop playing small and find the feminine in strength with Sam Gwaz @thesamplan
This week I am having a fan girl moment and chatting to the amazing Sam Gwaz, MS, CSCS, CISSN - or @thesamplan across all social medias.
Sam is a nutrition coach, personal trainer, and most importantly self love and care advocate! Focusing on being (and teaching others) how to be their best, healthiest selves rather than simply the smallest.
Having been told to lose weight as a child by eating less and moving more, the joy was stripped from movement and exercise simply became part of the equation to keep herself small and skinny.
Until she decided that she was going to focus more on how she felt and was no longer going to play into the narrative that women need to be small and quiet.
Sam often hangs out on instagram and loves to chat in her DMs, feeling so strongly about helping others who are stuck with a punishing mindset around movement or who need guidance. You can find out more about the programs she offers here.
She is an absolute force and I am so proud of this conversation. Let me know what you think and if you enjoyed the podcast, leave me a review so I can keep making incredible content for YOU.
