298: Grant Wahl Interview (2017)
Back in 2016, renowned journalist Grant Wahl made a bold prediction: Minnesota United could be the worst team in MLS expansion history. Before the Loons had signed a player, before they had a coach, he set their over/under for wins at 5. Fast forward to July 2017 and the fans celebrated Minnesota United's 6th win by declaring Grant Wahl Day and raising a scarf that read: "You know nothing, Grant Wahl. The North Remembers." Grant, who at first took a bit of umbrage at the reactions to his "hot take" (he very much didn't like this phrase), had by that time become part of the joke. He was incredibly touched by the scarf. This interview (terribly recorded, my deep apologies) was from the week after Grant Wahl Day. Grant will be incredibly missed. He was such a kind and talented man.
