In today's FIERCE Mother's podcast episode, Ugochi talks to Malobi Achike.
Malobi is an attorney and ardent diversity, equity, and inclusion ambassador. She is passionate about working with organizations to usher in changes that sustainably impact the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. This passion led Malobi to launch her own Tech startup, DEI Directive. DEI Directive helps organizations take the guesswork out of the DEI management process by giving them real-time and comprehensive access to DEI data to manage and drive results at the organization effectively. Before her role as the Founder and CEO of DEI Directive, Malobi spent over 15 years working in corporate legal tech and private practice spaces. She also has excellent business experience in the African and Asian markets. She is a problem solver through and through and enjoys connecting people to solutions and resources.
Malobi has been quoted as saying, "Diversity is a business imperative. After all, we get closer to excellent output when more have a seat at the table with full access to participate, and their contributions are, in turn, welcomed and accepted."
In this episode, Malobi explains the Importance of DEI in fostering a fair and inclusive society, the difference between equity and equality, and examines the role of intersectionality in achieving true inclusivity.
Malobi ended this critical discussion with a call to action to get involved and promote equity, challenging harmful stereotypes in our spheres of influence.

44. Well-Being and Burnout
FIERCE Mothers
03/29/23 • 27 min
You’ve heard the term “burnout,” but have you stopped to consider what burnout is and whether or not you’re experiencing it? Chances are, if you work long hours in demanding spaces, you’ve experienced burnout. While it may not be something we can prevent entirely, it is something we can recognize in advance and minimize the effects of.
Being a mother is one of the most rewarding experiences in life, but it can also be incredibly challenging. Raising children while managing a household, a career, and a social life can be overwhelming. As mothers, one of the biggest challenges is overcoming the inability to ask for help. We often try to do it all and become tired, discouraged, and resentful.
With so many responsibilities to juggle, it’s no wonder that many mothers experience burnout.
On today’s FIERCE Mothers Solo Session, host Ugochi Onyewu defines what burnout is, how you can identify the symptoms of it, and what to do when you see burnout rearing its ugly head. Ugochi goes over step-by-step methodologies to keep burnout at bay while maintaining your personal and professional stride.
