Eddy Temple-Morris, who has worked in what could be termed as the Entertainment Industry Plus for over 27 years, has extensive experience as a radio presenter and a radio show producer including years of duty at BBC Radio One, Atlantic 252’s On The Edge, The Remix show on XFM and his current position as a presenter on Virgin Radio. His TV experience includes producer and presenter for MTV’s Up For It, presenter on Channel 5’s chart show, producer and presenter for ITV’s This Way Up, presenter for Channel 4’s Mobile One The Grid.
He’s been music curator for festivals, TV and radio shows, even music for The Queen’s summer exhibition plus the favorite tour DJ of The Prodigy, Placebo and Pendulum. He’s produced and composed music used by Films and TV shows including Game Of Thrones and CSI, and video games like Far Cry. He is undeniable proof you can get through this business while being nice to people. Plus he is Chair of the Music Board of mental health charity, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and involved with a new game changing mental health start up and non-profit called My Black Dog. He is on a mission to get men to be more like women, by this he means to communicate their feelings more openly and for people to realise that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. He moves, like a benevolent vapor, between the worlds of music, radio, TV, cars, food, wine and mental health. One day he’ll do something that joins all these things. We wish you luck on that.
And joining Eddy is Andy Strange who, for over 30 years, has worked as recording engineer, mix engineer and/or producer. He worked as the assistant and engineer for the legendary Sir George Martin for 15 years and has engineered for dozens of number 1 albums and artists including The Pretenders, Natalie Imbruglia, Burt Bacharach, Mark Knopfler, Bush, George Rafferty, Pulp, John Lennon, Elton John, Duffy, Celin Dion, Cher, Michael Jackson, The Fugees, Paul Young, Robbie Williams and on and on. He currently runs his own studio called Strange World which has both vintage analogue and modern digital systems offering Mixing, Mastering, Recording, Live Recording and Remote Mixing services. Tom Brown is the owner of Lex Records, established in 2001 and Lex Films established in 2011. Tom started his career at Warp Records where Lex was initially a Warp sub-label. Tom took it fully independent in 2005. Lex is best known for releasing music by Danger Mouse, MF DOOM, Neon Neon and BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah.
In 2011 Lex started production on a series of short films written by Alan Moore and directed by Mitch Jenkins, the films were screened at film festivals worldwide and are now licensed to AMC's Shudder. Lex Films have produced Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins first feature film THE and is developing an original animated series STRATA by comic book creator Tommy Lee Edwards and I Speak Machine (here’s a concept art reel https://youtu.be/t8lbZqXI3V0).
And joining Tom is Will Skeaping who studied History or Art and Italian at the University of Manchester and studied History of Art at the University of Bologna is the co-editor of best-selling Extinction Rebellion handbook 'This Is Not A Drill', which is published by Penguin Books. Will is considered a full-time activist.
When he’s not haunting meetings and social occasions as the ghost of climate & ecological future, Will is a Creative Strategist specializing in integrated, scalable, creative brand development; building platforms and campaigns that connect with audiences through culture and technology. That all sounds impressive, but where is the music in all of this? Well, he started his professional career with many years in the music industry, holding positions of radio promotions at Warp Records and then, label manager at Lex Records. Plus, he apparently has amazing taste in music and his parents are cool oddball musicians.

Sophie Small, COO and Head of Music at Music Gateway cut her teeth in the live sector as an intern and Artist Liaison at Festival Republic before moving to music tech platform, Music Gateway, in 2014. She joined the company as an intern and was promoted through the ranks to Marketing Manager in 2015 and Head of Operations in 2016. At 23, Sophie led her first major UK-wide campaign from inception to fulfilment, managing Music Gateway’s lead team, in partnership with Gibson Brands and Argos & Metropolis. Today, as COO and Head of Music, Sophie manages targets and KPIs across each department. She is passionate about levelling the playing field and empowering independents who need help creating, managing and monetizing their music.
And Joining Sophie is Rachael Scarsbrook.
Rachael Scarsbrook works as the Music Promotions Manager at Music Gateway. Rachael is charged with devising and delivering campaigns to help artists gain exposure across radio, DSPs, TV, Press & Online in order to build their brands and network of fans. She started out in music journalism at age 16 and went on to study journalism at university. Rachael hosted and produced student radio and was the Music Editor for the student paper in print and online. She has gone on to be published in The 405, The Guardian, GoldFlakePaint, SOUNDS Magazine, Highclouds & Renowned For Sound. Rach also writes festival reviews for Festival Republic and can be found working the merch desk of MUNA shows throughout the UK. She joined Music Gateway early last year after she sold the CMO a coffee in the cafe where she was working. She is, perhaps, too in love with the city of Los Angeles--a love which blossomed after flying there on a whim to see Haim play for the 36th time.

For this episode, which is titled ‘The Long Arch of Jazz’ we are very fortunate to have with us, Rens Newland and Martin Fuss, who collectively run Jive Music Austria with Rens handling the label and marketing management and Martin handling the financial side with both of them managing the A&R duties.
Rens is a master guitarist from Holland who has made his unique mark on the music scene through decades of tireless, dedicated work. Starting with his early years as a pop guitarist, he quickly transitioned into Blues and Jazz. This evolution led him to be a part of the Jazz-Rock revolution, and the USA Billboards Charts’ success of his first album with the band Scope. Among his notable accomplishments over his more than 4-decades musical career, is his work as musical Director and Guitarist for Gloria Gaynor and for The Supremes. Rens is a quadruple musical threat. He is a guitarist, producer, composer, and orchestrator, he has recorded over a dozen - mostly Jazz or Fusion jazz - albums under his own name, plus many more with other projects like the famous Ostinato, plus he is on numerous albums as a side-man.

Martin’s musical education started at the age of 12 with classical clarinet lessons - but shortly after he changed to the tenorsax. He completed his studies at the Conservatory of Music, Vienna (master of arts) and the Berklee College of Music(Boston/USA). He is one of the most demanded studio and session players as well as jazz soloist in styles ranging from small jazz groups to big band and also plays in orchestral settings. Since 1991 he is teaching at the University of Music in Vienna and is endorser for Schagerl Saxophones and D'ADDARIO PERFORMING ARTISTS.

Naomi Asher, Anne Tausis and Stacey Haber are board members of IAFAR (Independent Alliance For Artist Rights) and they discuss what Neighboring Rights are and how you can collect them. Best is to become a member of IAFAR so you can stay up to date with your rights and help support IAFAR in making sure new legislation is put in place to protect your rights.
Naomi Asher is Vice President of International Neighboring Rights at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Previously she was President and Company Director of Wixen Music UK LTD which is a publishing and neighbouring rights management company. Naomi is also the president and co-founder of the IAFAR.
Ann Tausis, who has worked in the publishing and music rights sectors of the industry for over 30 years including senior positions at Universal Music Publishing Group and her current position of CEO of Kobalt Neighbouring Rights Limited. Ann is also Treasurer/Secretary and Vice Chair of the IAFAR.
Stacey Haber is Head of Legal & Business Affairs at Inside Baseball Music Publishing. Stacey’s diverse professional life has taken her through many aspects of the entertainment and legal worlds. This includes television, theatre, music videos and feature films. Her in-house legal career began at Instinct Records, in private practice she was a senior lawyer at Simms & Walters LLP in NYC and Theodore Goddard in London working with the firm’s A-listers David Bowie, Elvis Costello and Tina Turner. Stacey is currently, in addition to her position at Inside Baseball Music Publishing, Founder of the multi-media company The Music Firm, Founder of Hope & Plum Book Publishing, Partner at FoxPin Artist Management and Business and Legal Head at the IAFAR.
