Everything is Personal - Your Stress Response is Personal with Dr. Dave Rabin MD, PhD
play

03/16/23 • 60 min

I love the idea of self-healing. Tapping into your own power and interrupting patterns that might be on autopilot. Dr. Dave Rabin MD, PhD is a board-certified psychiatrist, neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and inventor who has studied resilience and the impact of chronic stress on our lives for over 15 years. Dr. Rabin and his team collaborate with clients at the Apollo Clinic, empowering clients to take control of their mental and physical health by tapping into our abilities to adapt and heal ourselves. In addition to focusing on integration therapy, plant and natural medicines, couples therapy, and medicine-assisted psychotherapy, Dr. Rabin specializes in treatment-resistant mental illnesses including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosomatic disorders, personality disorders, chronic pain disorders, insomnia, and substance use disorders using minimal and non-invasive treatment strategies. MORE ABOUT DR. RABIN Dr. Rabin invented the Apollo wearable, the first scientifically validated performance and recovery enhancing device that improves the body’s resilience to stress. By training the body to relax and recover, Apollo can help you sleep, focus, and tap into a healthier and more productive version of yourself. Stress triggers our “fight-or-flight” response and makes us feel like we’re in danger. The Apollo technology signals safety to the brain to interrupt the “fight or flight” response when it is undesirable by sending soothing vibration patterns to the skin reminding us that we are safe and not actually under threat. It’s like a wearable hug for your nervous system that uses silent, soothing vibrations to rebalance your body and mind.EndoDNA: EndoDNA offers a tailored health and wellness experience through DNA analysis, empowering users with insights on nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement choices based on their genetic profile. Two-time Stanley Cup champion Daniel Carcillo doesn't want someone else to be in the same position he was which is contemplating suicide. Fueled by a Traumatic Brain Injury after years of playing professional hockey and with a nickname like Car Bomb, Daniel was known as an enforcer. He was a very popular player with the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, and everywhere else he played. You have a lot more years to live after professional sports. After the loss of his friend who was also a former NHL player suffering from concussion syndrome, Daniel spiraled. His mission in life included taking on the NHL. He wanted to answer why NHL players struggle so much with moving on from the game. Why are so many former players I know battling depression? Why does the hockey community ignore them when they’re gone? And why can’t we create a more concrete program to help them transition into real life? After his own experience with psychedelic mushroom therapy and the associated re-integration, Daniel decided to make this his mission; to help former athletes and other people suffering from depression, post-concussion syndrome and other mental health challenges through natural medicines including psilocybin and plant medicine. This is an impactful episode. Please don't forget to leave 5 stars and your comments!
