Everyday Miracles Podcast
Mike Olsen died on the operating room table when he bled out during his double lung transplant. He found himself in heaven where he met Jesus and his organ donor, where he was able to let the donor know his deep gratitude, and get a message from Jesus about the new lungs. Yes, Mike's testimony is remarkable, but what I love most about his message are his insights from heaven. He experienced overwhelming peace in heaven, and he sees life differently in the light of eternity. "I realized I couldn't remember my past. I couldn't remember any sin. it was like it had been erased from a black board. I felt so encouraged and blessed. I just felt, WOW... it was all Jesus! Everything we accomplish in life...it is all Him. All of the striving, all of the worrying! I had an epiphany in heaven. Oh my goodness, I wasted SO much time worrying about finances, family, my spouse, how I appear to others, if I was doing enough, if I was pleasing God. It was like a weight had been lifted, and I realized that in Heaven none of that matters! Even the suffering, although I didn't like it, even though it was hard waiting for the transplant, even that doesn't matter in the light of eternity. The things that we go through might seem like they are long and gruesome, and horrible down here, But in the light of eternity, it's all woven into who we will be." - Mike Olsen Mike and his wife Patti live in Louisville, KY. He is a retired Pastor of Iona Community Church. In 2014 he was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease of progressive scarring of the lungs with no cure. The doctors told him he had 2 years to live and advised him to go home and make arrangements. Transplant would be his only option, but not a guarantee. Mike decided he wanted to make every breath count. He was passionate about bringing awareness to IPF and in helping others. He received his new lungs on January 7, 2019.

In this episode Mike shares:

  • God's word to him at the time of the devastating diagnosis that gave him supernatural peace.
  • The power of the prayers he was receiving.
  • Ruben's 3am call and the impact of listening to someone in need.
  • God's orchestration of meetings with politicians, celebrities, and the President to promote awareness and make an impact.
  • God's beautiful message in a vision during his wait for transplant.
  • The experience of being bathed in the light of heaven, seeing swirls of colorful lights (rainbow) and angels singing, meeting Jesus and the donor.
  • Seeing an angel at his bedside during recovery.
  • His book in progress about his experience and many other pieces of his journey, titled, "Bathed in Heaven's Light."
  • Joshua Mills' testimony where he was taken in the Spirit to China and evidence that followed.
  • Experience in his church with God's glory manifesting as gold on a child.

"Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him." - Psalm 115:3 NIV

"Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion." - Revelation 10:1 NIV

78. Police Officer Life is Saved by the Most Unexpected Gift

Jocelynn realized something had to change when she saw herself on television in a "Most Wanted" report. Sixteen felonies, a drug addiction, multiple crimes to sustain it, the lies, homeless and tired of fighting, she called the police department and turned herself in. It was a process, but she submitted her life to Jesus and was delivered. In the years to come God would call her to serve in so many ways, including the donation of her kidney to one of the officers who arrested her on 3 different occasions. In this episode Jocelynn shares:

  • The heartache of those darker days, and her path to recovery.
  • How God told her she would have a facility for helping others get set free from addiction.
  • The day she clearly heard God tell her that she had the officer's kidney, how it was such a perfect match that the hospital assumed she was his daughter, that it was in excellent condition, and it set a record for most urine output after transplant!
  • The beautiful way God blessed her in how she would share the news of the kidney donation with her children (God is in the details).
  • The Place for Grace ministry and how God is opening doors and providing in miraculous ways.
  • Her encouraging message for those listening who are struggling with addiction.
  • A fundraiser ending 10/20/2021 where you can donate $100 and get a chance to win a car
  • I pray a blessing over our listeners and we give God the glory for who He is and how He loves us.
"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.' 80. The Power of a Mother's Prayer

As we honor all of those who have served in the military this Veteran's Day I thought it was the perfect time to share a beautiful piece of my father's testimony. Kendal Stewart was born in a small mountain town in Kentucky and enjoyed a modest, yet joy filled and innocent childhood. He was the 8th of 9 children, and developed a strong work ethic early in his life. His mother and father taught him strong Christian values and how to appreciate the beauty in simple things. Upon graduation from high school he planned to enlist in the Army, but God directed his military service differently than he expected. He reflects upon the fervent prayers of his mother and is grateful to see God's hand in pivotal steps of the journey. In this episode Kendal shares:

  • How God led him to serve in the US Air Force.
  • How his education prior to enlisting set him up for his life's work.
  • His role in the Air Force not being what he had hoped, but exactly what would suit God's plan.
  • His multiple roles serving in Dover, Delaware (AC & Heat, Funeral duties, Disaster Control team), being offered a promotion to fly over Cuba on a special mission.
  • His experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time and the impact it had on his life.
  • That our best testimony is in how we live and in loving others authentically.
  • What he would say to his 18 year old self if he had the chance.
John 15:13 NIV Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
