This week’s program showcases the exceptionally talented musical husband and wife duo Over the Rhine, as they celebrate over 30 years of touring together. We’re also joined by gifted singer-songwriter David Huckfelt (member of the exceptional band called The Pines), who shares tunes from his solo album project. Nick also sits down for a conversation with the co-founder of a nonprofit organization that’s helping veterans heal from PTSD and more, through gardening and community involvement.

This week’s show is part one of a two-part special “eTown at Red Rocks,” as we return to the legendary Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre for an hour of live music with Boulder-born, Nashville-based American folk trio The Wood Brothers, consisting of brothers Chris and Oliver Wood, as well as multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix.

For part two of a two part show, we’re joined by eTown veteran Aoife O’Donovan of the Grammy Award-winning band “I’m With Her.” Aoife returns to eTown for a very special performance with collaborator Jeremy Kittel, who co-produced and arranged Aoife’s first new studio recording in four years. Aoife and Jeremy are also joined by a string quartet. Also with us for their visit is Latin and American roots band Che Apalache, featuring three powerhouse Latin American musicians – two from Argentina, Franco Martino (guitar), Martin Bobrik (mandolin), and Pau Barjau (banjo) from Mexico, as well as worldly frontman Joe Troop. Nick also sits down for a conversation with Bea Johnson, author of Zero Waste Home. Bea initiated the zero-waste movement and shares her tips for living a more sustainable lifestyle.

With the recent passing of the legendary singer-songwriter John Prine (October 10, 1946 - April 7, 2020), eTown host Nick Forster revisits the interview from John’s 1996 visit to the eTown stage. This podcast features a brief reflection from Nick and a conversation with John, as he discusses his family history and musical roots. John Prine left a lasting memory on us all, both here at eTown and beyond, and we’re forever grateful to have experienced his soul and legacy.
