Today’s guest is Paul Humphreys, keyboard player and singer in the much loved Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. OMD’s origination in Liverpool parallels the Human League’s in many ways – both started in 1978, both were self-taught, both had an early love of synthesisers, and both had a burning ambition to combine pop with art and futurism. Paul’s ex-partner Claudia Brucken is also one of Martyn’s best friends, and their band OneTwo was also very popular for over a decade. Paul is regularly likened to the ‘heart’ of OMD, and his talent shines through in everything he does.
Ladies and gentlemen – pop royalty, Paul Humphreys...
