Dr Kirsty Seward
05/29/23 • 79 min
Welcome to the first episode of 'Explant Chats', a side series where I invite women to bravely share their own unique breast implant illness (BII) + explant journey with you. Hearing women share their stories is so powerful, and if it wasn't for the women before me who bravely shared their journey, I wouldn't be where I am today. From these 'Explant Chats' episodes I hope to continue to raise awareness of BII and to even help you on your own BII journey, no matter where you're at 💕
Meet Jade Drew, a loving mum, a passionate life + fitness coach for women, an entrepreneur and a dear friend of mine - whom trusted me to guide her on her BII journey. Jade openly shares her story and we dive deep into life pre and post explant and the emotional waves that the BII journey can bring. She even shares her deep fears she had and all the questions she asked herself along the way. From denial, self-love and self-worth, we talk about it all!
In this episode we cover...
- What were your reasons for getting implants?
- What you wish someone said to you before getting implants?
- What were the initial symptoms when you started to feel unwell?
- How did you feel when you first learned about breast implant illness? What emotions and thoughts showed up?
- Let's talk about DENIAL!?
- The reality of day to day living with breast implant illness
- The process of unpacking 'self-worth', breaking through limiting beliefs and 'authenticity'
- How implants can become part of your 'identity'
- Knowing when it's the 'right' time for surgery
- What did you do to prepare for explant surgery?
- How did you communicate your BII + explant journey to your kids?
- Recovery and life after explant
- and so much more!

Today I welcome my second guest to the podcast - a very dear and inspirational friend of mine - Jennifer Borg. Jen is a lifestyle photographer and mentor for young creatives - and a passionate manifesting generator.
Jen shares her brave story about trusting her intuition to guide her decision to have breast surgery following a strong family history of breast cancer. Jen shares deeply her journey to making the decision to have surgery and the practices she integrated to help her move through the experience. Jen also shares how trusting her intuition throughout her life has led her to create a life of abundance and a life that allows her the opportunity to share her wisdom and mentor teenage girls to 'listen tot he whispers' and step into their vision
In this episode we dive into...
- what is your 'intuition' and how to tune into it (tap into the 'whispers')
- how to trust your intuition and yourself to make brave decisions

(#32) The middle ground between 'diet culture' and 'intuitive eating' with Michelle Shapirord
Dr Kirsty Seward
02/04/23 • 61 min
AHHH this episode has been so long in the making and I am so excited to finally welcome Michelle Shapirord to the podcast - I know you'll love her too. Michelle and I connected on Instagram about 2 years ago, in our DM's to eachother we dive deep into the nuances of nutrition and finding the middle ground between 'diet culture' and 'body positivity'. We just knew we had to bring this conversation to you ✨
Michelle is an integrative functional registered dietitian from New York City. Michelle started her professional journey to be a dietitian because of her own personal story through weight loss and diet culture. Michelle is an incredible and passionate professional who cultivates a safe space with her clients and supports them to lovingly find their inner voice and authentic health. On her Instagram she cuts through the diet culture BS and explains the nuances that live within the nutrition space!
In this episode we unpack...
- the polarity of social media 'diet culture' vs 'intuitive eating'
- how you can lovingly lose weight - how do we land in the 'middle ground'?
- I left 'diet culture'...now what?
- why 'healing your relationship with food' is a STEP in the journey, it's not the whole journey when it comes to finding your authentic health
- how to find your 'inner voice' and why reflection is key!
- how to give yourself permission to find what works for you without the 'all or nothing' mentality
- the cycle of nutrition trends and 'cults' and why the best 'diet' for you is unlikely to be 'trendy'
- and so much more!
As always, I am so grateful for you listening to the wisdom I am here to share ✨

So as we reach the final days of 2022 I thought I'd share with you the quality questions I'm asking myself to unpack 2022 ✨
I encourage you to block out some 'me' time before the end of the year to sit down and work through these prompts.

Dr Kirsty Seward
11/20/22 • 71 min

Whether it be in well-being, career or our relationships, she is a coach & mentor who loves to help people heal, integrate and find their way back home to themselves✨
Nerida is an incredible and inspirational friend and I am so excited to bring her to you. As always our conversation went alot longer than we expected - but there was so much value in our conversation I couldn't narrow it down, so I've split our conversation into part 1 and part 2✨

(#36) Becoming your own bestfriend with Katie Ford
Dr Kirsty Seward
06/26/23 • 64 min
Katie Ford is a mindset and motivation coach for women, author of two books, podcaster, solo mum to 2 boys - and an all round incredible human. She is the EMBODIMENT of becoming your own bestfriend! Through this conversation Katie shares her journey to tap dancing on stage to raise money for cancer and how she nolonger waits for the 'right' time to do the next thing.
My favourite quote from this conversation with Katie is...
"I constantly want to surprise myself, and that means that I'm constantly going to put myself in uncomfortable situations, and I think that there's such a beautiful gift to give ourselves when we let ourselves look awkward. You've got to let yourself look goofy, you've got to let yourself BEGIN"
In this episode we cover...
- why trying to control how other people 'see' us is actually holding us back?
- moving from a place of 'seeking validation' vs 'authenticity'
- knowing when to let go of your current reality and embrace change (aka being 'uncomfortable')
- why change, whether on a 'small' or 'big' level, requires the same level of self-belief!
- how you can use the evidence from your current reality to discover your 'WHY' and cultivate the courage to embrace change
- if we can't make the small decisions, it's hard to make the big decisions
- we get to CHOOSE what fear and discomfort mean to us
- learning to tune into your intuition and your 'intuitive pull'
- and so much more!
If you'd like to connect with Katie or invest in one of her incredible books - her Instagram account is @katieford.com.au
