AHHH this episode has been so long in the making and I am so excited to finally welcome Michelle Shapirord to the podcast - I know you'll love her too. Michelle and I connected on Instagram about 2 years ago, in our DM's to eachother we dive deep into the nuances of nutrition and finding the middle ground between 'diet culture' and 'body positivity'. We just knew we had to bring this conversation to you ✨
Michelle is an integrative functional registered dietitian from New York City. Michelle started her professional journey to be a dietitian because of her own personal story through weight loss and diet culture. Michelle is an incredible and passionate professional who cultivates a safe space with her clients and supports them to lovingly find their inner voice and authentic health. On her Instagram she cuts through the diet culture BS and explains the nuances that live within the nutrition space!
In this episode we unpack...

  • the polarity of social media 'diet culture' vs 'intuitive eating'
  • how you can lovingly lose weight - how do we land in the 'middle ground'?
  • I left 'diet culture'...now what?
  • why 'healing your relationship with food' is a STEP in the journey, it's not the whole journey when it comes to finding your authentic health
  • how to find your 'inner voice' and why reflection is key!
  • how to give yourself permission to find what works for you without the 'all or nothing' mentality
  • the cycle of nutrition trends and 'cults' and why the best 'diet' for you is unlikely to be 'trendy'
  • and so much more!

As always, I am so grateful for you listening to the wisdom I am here to share ✨

If you've been listening to this podcast, it's likely you already know I'm a big advocate of reflection journaling, because after all, we don't learn from experiences, we learn from reflecting on the experiences. So as we reach the final days of 2022 I thought I'd share with you the quality questions I'm asking myself to unpack 2022 ✨
I encourage you to block out some 'me' time before the end of the year to sit down and work through these prompts.

As always, I am so grateful for you listening to the wisdom I am here to share ✨

The power of 'letting go' - How long do you hold onto things? And in doing so, how is it holding you back? Powerful questions right?! One of the most impactful things I've been doing this year when it comes to self-development is practicing 'letting go' and today I wish to share this perspective and practice with you ✨

Nerida is an incredible and inspirational friend and I am so excited to bring her to you. As always our conversation went alot longer than we expected - but there was so much value in our conversation I couldn't narrow it down, so I've split our conversation into part 1 and part 2✨

Welcome to the first episode of 'Explant Chats', a side series where I invite women to bravely share their own unique breast implant illness (BII) + explant journey with you. Hearing women share their stories is so powerful, and if it wasn't for the women before me who bravely shared their journey, I wouldn't be where I am today. From these 'Explant Chats' episodes I hope to continue to raise awareness of BII and to even help you on your own BII journey, no matter where you're at 💕
Meet Jade Drew, a loving mum, a passionate life + fitness coach for women, an entrepreneur and a dear friend of mine - whom trusted me to guide her on her BII journey. Jade openly shares her story and we dive deep into life pre and post explant and the emotional waves that the BII journey can bring. She even shares her deep fears she had and all the questions she asked herself along the way. From denial, self-love and self-worth, we talk about it all!
In this episode we cover...

  • What were your reasons for getting implants?
  • What you wish someone said to you before getting implants?
  • What were the initial symptoms when you started to feel unwell?
  • How did you feel when you first learned about breast implant illness? What emotions and thoughts showed up?
  • Let's talk about DENIAL!?
  • The reality of day to day living with breast implant illness
  • The process of unpacking 'self-worth', breaking through limiting beliefs and 'authenticity'
  • How implants can become part of your 'identity'
  • Knowing when it's the 'right' time for surgery
  • What did you do to prepare for explant surgery?
  • How did you communicate your BII + explant journey to your kids?
