The fear of the illness, it’s associated anxiety and isolation, as a result of the quarantine, has created a fertile environment for alcohol abuse. Tonight we will be talking specifically about the increase in harmful use of alcohol, especially in patient that already have pre-existing liver disease. An expert in Living Disease from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, Dr. Gene Im will be joining the conversation.
The second topic and guest is Dr. Sunny Harpavat from Texas Children’s Hospital, here in the Texas Medical Center. He will be discussing child obesity and fatty liver in the pediatric population. Holiday Weight Gain
Holiday weight gain is a common point of discussion these days, and there is always a lot of talk trying to prevent it. While COVID-19 may reduce the number of social gatherings this Christmas season, no doubt there will be plenty of food to share this season.
Helen Yuan, RD with Liver Specialists of Texas joined Dr. Galati on the 11/30/20 broadcast of Your Health First on 740KTRH. Together they discussed strategies to reduce the consumption of calorie dense foods, and increase more less dense foods like vegetables.
