In the first episode of DILF's Co-Parenting Series, we delve into some familiar territory for most parents...
A few weeks back, my wife and I were in the middle of an argument when I realized that WHAT we were actually fighting about had nothing to do with the situation before us or the words coming out of our mouths. We were each angry about other unresolved issues in our relationship and simply using this random argument to vent frustrations without actually addressing the true issue at hand... and it was beginning to impact the environment in which we raise our child.
We were in a vicious cycle... and it wasn't about a lack of love, it was remnants from past feelings that had yet to be resolved and simply lingered silently, growing momentum within us in a way that could slowly poison any relationship but especially dangerous for the often strained relationship between co-parents... and this made me think of a topic I’ve been working on a lot lately: A simple concept to some, yet revolutionary to others: ACKNOWLEDGMENT... one of the best ways I have found to gain resolution and put the past behind us.

Ultimately, the goal of a #DadTruth is to break all those stereotypes that present dads as the #2 parent coming off the bench — and instead encourage the idea that a parent is a parent... no matter their gender.

Modern Dadhood
Kevin welcomes the first "Dad Friend" he made during his paternity leave to discuss some of the struggles (as well as many of the lessons), they've learned thus far on the exciting rollercoaster journey we call: parenthood.
As of now, there's really no system in place to welcome, educate or support dads... not like there is for moms. Therefore, the simple action of making a new "dad friend" is no easy task. This episode is our first step in truly bringing these issues to light, and hopeful helping other dads out there to know that they are NOT alone.
