Trauma isn’t what happened to you, it is what is happening inside of you. Avoidance is one of the key ways that people try to cope with trauma mostly because they are working so hard to stay away from triggers that may cause the person to go right back to a spot of a traumatic event in their mind. In this episode we look at what trauma is and different ways it can effect you as well as ultimately how to dig deep and work it out.

No more hiding and no more being silent, no more feeling guilty because you don’t have it all together, time to stop pushing and covering up your pain with things that are only making it worse.
There are so many different “silent” diseases today — everything from thyroid disease, kidney and liver dysfunction, Celiac disease, hypertension, diabetes and Heart disease.
The truth is one of the most silent killers of people is ‘silence’ itself.
It is time to speak up and not be silent!

So much stress can come from simply not actively listening to others, because we are thinking of our Ya-But response instead of listening. In this episode Michael discusses how we can eliminate the idea of control by simply listening instead of adding your ideas to every conversation.
“Yes but” suggests there is a different fact to consider. The words can discount everything that led up to it and can lead to a debate. “Those flowers are beautiful.” “Yes, but they only last two weeks.”
“Yes and” shows you agree with what someone has said, but rather than presenting a different fact you build on the words that led up to it. “Those flowers are beautiful.” “Yes, and they do best when they get plenty of water.”

The movie Bombshell shows a very real situation that many people are struggling with, being hurt and feeling trapped to actually do something about it.
This is called a Trauma Bond or Stockholm Syndrome which is a condition that happens when the victim develops a psychological alliance with their abusers during captivity or abuse. Emotional bonds may be formed, between captor and captives, during intimate time together and abuse. These are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.
Many people are in the middle of this right now, and it is my hope that this episode will be an aid on your path to freedom.
