Wesley Louis | Animation Director & Co-Founder (The Line)
07/07/19 • 31 min
As diverse storytelling dominates the creative scene we went to one source of all the action to learn about putting your sauce into action - Wesley Louis, Co-Founder of The Line studio and Animation Director.
His recent animation short, The Mighty Grand Piton, took a familiar story (child meets robot) and remixed it sending shock waves through social media. We had to talk about his work and he told us about the feedback he’d received including one moving reaction. We found out how he balances being a studio Co-Founder and creator for multiple big name brands like Viceland and LeSean Thomas, what unexpected motivators led him to making a career change, what advice he’d give to aspiring/emerging talent, why the story matters and what it means to him to do it #ForTheCulture. He shared so much with us that this is going to be a double dose of episodic enlightenment. This being the first and the second will follow next week. Lucky you!
Enjoy your show!

CXC Cares | Diversity & Womxn Creatives
On the last day of Womxn's History Month we wanted to make and take a moment!
We’ve created this episode as a piece to come back to, not just for a month, but in future to support our womxn listeners. Our co-hosts Esther, Amy and Lor connected with the incredible Monique Henry-Hudson to have a conversation as #WOC in the #creative fields. Combining real talk and practical advice from practising women experts at various stages in their careers. Expect to hear questions like, what can you do if you can’t find a space that serves people like you? How to approach networking/career progression on our terms? Plus we talk the small changes that can make a big difference to making spaces more welcoming for people like us.
Enjoy your show.
