#Netflix has changed the game; from delivering content to creating new phrases for our behaviour, #netflixandchill, it’s driven a surge in content. Now it’s entering the animation space! This episode we got to hear more about it and learn what it takes to work there with Animation Production Manager - Tiara Little.

She’s got the credentials. #RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). #Nickelodeon. #Disney. We talked about #critics, critiques or criticism r.e Game of Thrones #GoT8 versus everyone because viewers do care, the difference between #NetflixOriginals and #NetflixAnimation studio, clever ways to get into a creative career whilst keeping doubters happy, the importance of #personaldevelopment, multigenerational workplaces, getting into studios like #WaltDisneyStudios and #CartoonNetwork, what does production do in the animation industry and what it takes to make it as a leader of teams PLUS did we get any Netflix exclusives on any upcoming #NetflixAnime (#hearditherefirst)? Here's the long awaited 2nd part of our chat, if you've missed part 1, then listen here. Else, hit play and...

The resurgence of #animation can’t be ignored. As we enjoy the incredible work coming to our screens we stop, big pun, to share more about #Stopmotion with an incredible artist in the field - Carmen Bromfield Mason.

She has an impressive catalogue of work that includes Shaun the Sheep and Early Man. As a Junior Director working at #AardmanAnimation she’s perfectly placed to give us advice. We caught up with her to chat and get lessons on her approach to getting her foot in the door, hear her views on the state of the stop-motion industry and future opportunities. She explained about the level of detail and dedication involved in bringing characters to life, the impact #VR could have on the entire #workflow and if she partly owns Aardman (as a large stake of it has been handed over to employees). She also reflected on the low numbers of #diverse candidates entering the space, provided us with words of wisdom and much more. Listen and learn. It’s another two-parter. This is the 2nd, bonus, part.

Enjoy your show!

We're back with the second part of the interview with Wesley Louis, Co-Founder of The Line studio and Animation Director.

His recent animation short, The Mighty Grand Piton, took a familiar story (child meets robot) and remixed it sending shock waves through social media. We had to talk about his work and he told us about the feedback he’d received including one moving reaction. We found out how he balances being a studio Co-Founder and creator for multiple big name brands like Viceland and LeSean Thomas, what unexpected motivators led him to making a career change, what advice he’d give to aspiring/emerging talent, why the story matters and what it means to him to do it #ForTheCulture. This is part two (a bonus) episode so make sure you've listened to part one before checking this out.

Enjoy your show!

As diverse storytelling dominates the creative scene we went to one source of all the action to learn about putting your sauce into action - Wesley Louis, Co-Founder of The Line studio and Animation Director.

He shared so much with us that this is going to be a double dose of episodic enlightenment. This being the first and the second will follow next week. Lucky you!

Enjoy your show!

On the last day of Womxn's History Month we wanted to make and take a moment!

We’ve created this episode as a piece to come back to, not just for a month, but in future to support our womxn listeners. Our co-hosts Esther, Amy and Lor connected with the incredible Monique Henry-Hudson to have a conversation as #WOC in the #creative fields. Combining real talk and practical advice from practising women experts at various stages in their careers. Expect to hear questions like, what can you do if you can’t find a space that serves people like you? How to approach networking/career progression on our terms? Plus we talk the small changes that can make a big difference to making spaces more welcoming for people like us.

Enjoy your show.

And the award goes to...

In this episode we get into the shiny, sparkling, spectacles known as "award ceremonies". How do you get nominated for a coveted industry award? Find out from our co-host and expert VFX artist, Laraib. She shares the story of her #Netflix supported trip to Los Angeles. We look the ways diverse candidates can get more exposure and our feelings on these ideas. Plus we ask also if watching people giving/getting awards is still relevant and come up with some new/alternative awards of our own.

We also share how YOU can suggest what we talk about on the show!

Enjoy your show.

You've, probably, seen the film and heard the reviews about Marvel's Spider-Man | Into The Spider-Verse.

Well, we take the conversation in a new direction. We ask (and try to answer) the big questions that got creatives and "the culture" hyped about this modern day masterpiece. Will the future of #animation and storytelling forever be changed? How to tell if representation is actually tokenism? Is this a tribute or a love letter? When you know you've seen this film too many times [hint: you can never see this film too many times]. Plus all the hot takes from our round table of creative professionals.

We also share how YOU can suggest what we talk about on the show!

Enjoy your show.
