80. Managing Your Energy and Expectations - Don't Hit a Wall
10/18/21 • 28 min
The holidays are coming. For some of you, this season is treating you well and it's amazing. But for others, the feeling of tiredness has really set in. Today I am sharing a few strategies that will help you if you feel like you’re about to hit a wall and the mental anxiety of it all is starting to set in.
A healthy business needs a healthy CEO and can't operate their business if they aren't in love with it. (Re-listen to Episode 45 for some inspiration on falling back in love with your business).
To ease the pressure of the holiday season and Q4 and to see the success you want, you first have to show up as your best self for your family, your team, and your customers.
In this episode, we'll go over:
- Reset your mindset (bless and release all the negative thoughts)
- Reignite your passion (write down the positives, declare your goals, and surround yourself with those who encourage you)
- Revisit or create your Thrive List (non-negotiable things you need to make you feel good - self-care )
- Rest and reclaim - so you can show up 100%
What does all of this have to do with running your retail business? Everything. If you’re feeling down, burnt out, and not fueled by the things that make you thrive, you’re not showing up and you’re going to hit that burnout wall. I want to encourage you to rest and reset. You don’t want to go into any quarter, let alone the 4th quarter and this busy season, with a low-energy battery.
Ask yourself: "What would make this light and easy?"

Google My Business may not be the sexy popular platform we think of - mainly because you have to fit your business into their parameters, but it is essential. And FREE! Many businesses stop at just having a Google My Business profile, but are not taking the time to optimize it.
25 years ago, Chris Hickle's wife was teaching piano lessons to help pay for college. The business really began to grow and they started really focusing on their online marketing strategy. Chris was then able to quit his 9-5 job and help solely with the business.
