When you're having one of those moments and hear your spouse say, "How can I help you?" Is that all you have to say? This is as much your situation as it is mine.

This is a conversation too many couples have that seems to be more one-sided than inclusive. Quickly, the atmosphere changes from being on the same team to being an individual.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT

And you call this a marriage? A team on the same side?

Why is it that men just don't get it? We don't need help; we need them to participate.

We need them to ....

  • step up to the plate,
  • not ask questions and just do it,
  • take responsibility like we do - no questions asked,
  • oh...just do something!

Now we have to give credit to our men out there who are really trying. All they think is that we want them to ask permission to help so they don't mess up something.

Talk about MISCOMMUNICATION!!!

Life is so unfair in marriage. No, it's really not. We just need to change the conversation and how we handle daily stresses.

We all have daily stresses. The kids can be spilling milk, coloring all over the table, fighting with siblings, complaining about losing Fortnite, and being just crabby!

It's time for the team to step it up! And yes, THE TEAM!!!

You and your spouse are on the same team! But in conversation, it usually sounds like you're in battle.

The last thing you need is conflict added to chaos.

Be honest, when was the last evening you spent that was calming and refreshing?

Unfortunately, many don't. The evening is the let-down to the entire day. And because you're all a part of the same family, you let all the good, the bad, and the ugly hang out.

So let's begin to change the conversation and get on the same page!

The K.I.S.S. ~ Get on the same page!

You need to be speaking the same language. If this is truly bothering you, have a conversation with your spouse to guide him.

  1. Don't get so personal over the word help! And this specifically applies to us women!!! When the word "help" is used, we assume that the responsibility falls ONLY on us.
  2. Encourage the language....What can I do for you?
  3. Acknowledge that 'I will do the same for you!'

Playing on the same team is a challenge. Why do you think football teams practice DAILY?

Get on the same page. Create an environment that encourages the all-inclusive team, your family!

"Get on the same page!"
