As a thanks to its Corvette customers, Mid America hosts Fun Fest in mid September each year at it’s Effingham, IL headquarters. This year Mid America celebrated the Corvette’s that ran in the million dollar Corvette Challenge race series of 1988-9. I took this as an opportunity to share with you the genesis of these cars and how Corvette racing between 1985 and 1989 led to the ZR-1 of 1990.
