Conversations with Nova Reid
In this episode broadcast during mental health awareness week 2020 I have the pleasure of being by Chloe Davies Head of PR and Partnerships at MyGWork.
We talk about parenting 2 under 5, reproductive health and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, discrimination in health care services and how that can have a detrimental impact on outcome. We also talk about why prioritising individual mental health and wellbeing in the workplace is important now more than ever, racism in the LGBTQ+ community, true allyship, identity and how Covid-19 can trigger being back in the closet, the impact of not being able to access true freedom and living in your truth. We also explore all of this while navigating mental health while being a black woman.
We cover a lot of important ground so dive on in.

S1 Ep9: Competition, coaching & white supremacy: being yourself, wholeheartedly with Nicola Rae Wickham

In this episode I have the pleasure of interviewing one of my favourite human beings; Creative Coach and Founder of A Life More Inspired, Nicola Rae Wickham.
In this open hearted and RICH conversation, we talk about growing up in Britain and navigating every day racism. We talk about trying to fit in and find a sense of belonging and competition within the black community. We also talk about what holds people back from being themselves and share some of the nuances of running a business when black. We also talk about the coaching industry and its link to white supremacy (oh yes) and the magic that comes from being able to be yourself, wholeheartedly.
Relax and enjoy and let us know what you think!
You can connect with Nicola over at @alifemoreinpsired on instagram and find out more about her services, including the launch of her digital membership for big hearted creatives "Dream and Do" up over at www.alifemoreinspired.com and you can also check out her podcast, "Dream and Do Podcast" available on your favourite podcast host.

S1 Ep11: Nothing can be changed until it is faced: James Baldwin, Activism and why white women need to rise up

Going solo again today troops.
There is a lot to discuss.
In this episode I am discussing white fragility and how it presents itself in white women, the relationship between black people and white women and police brutality. The wonderful James Baldwin, the essence of activism and why we need to do better and fast.
Please note I discuss in detail some fo the brutality inflicted on black people, so particular if you are black/ brown you may find distressing, so please exercise self care and proceed with causation - if you are white, this is an awareness and educational piece and an invitation to you to sit in the discomfort of this reality.
This episode ends with a one minute silence for George Floyd.
