Nora Maxwell (@norajmaxwell) on How to be a Better Ally

02/26/21 • 62 min

Conversations with Cam

In this episode I talk to Nora Maxwell, an activist helping white and non black POC be better allies. We dive into her mission of educating followers through digestible, approachable, meaningful and creative content and making the switch from learning to doing. We discuss the individual, interpersonal, and structural ways to act in allyship, how to hold family and friends accountable, and the white fragility that may arise. Nora also shares her experience growing up in a biracial household. In the solo ending portion of this episode, I discuss implicit bias and what I've noticed as a podcast host and also try to unpack my current relationship with my financials.

Jazz Leaf (@recipes4health) on our Recovery Journeys from Brain Trauma

On this episode, Jazz and I discuss our experiences with brain trauma and car accidents. We talk about our emotions in the moment of our accidents, injuries sustained, our recovery journeys, and methods that helped our healing processes. We explain the magnitude of our concussions, and how we tried to jump into our past lives before fully recovering. We talk about the lessons learned, gratitude felt towards these life-altering experiences, and how they have shaped us into who we are today.
