Sustainable Business Management
Because you’re tuned into this podcast, I know that you want to see more simplicity in your life and business. I mean, why else would you download a business episode from a podcast called Chasing Simple, right? But maybe simplicity and sustainability sound great in theory, but are hard for you to practically come by.
And you certainly aren’t alone in that. I believe that simplicity is never going to be something we find once and for all, but is an ongoing practice. Which is why I show up here week after week, to share practical ways to implement simplicity in your life, business, and marketing. It’s also why I bring in experts to help share their own areas of expertise and how we can simplify those as well.
And this week, I’m so excited to be joined by Sabrina Gebhardt, a lifestyle photographer of more than 11 years in Fort Worth, Texas and a business coach to photographers and other creative entrepreneurs. She’s married to her college sweetheart, and together they have 3 kids and 2 dogs. Sabrina is a lover of caffeine, emojis, color, and reading anything she can get her hands on (which is how I just know you’re going to love her). She’s also a strong enneagram 3 who really does have to force herself to sit still, but over the years has learned that her business (and her sanity) benefit from slowing down.
And today she’s joining us to share with you some practical ways that you can build sustainability and slowing down into your business as well! You’re going to love some of these tips she’s brought with her, so without wasting any time, let’s dive on in!

Episode 133: How I’m Automating My Black Friday Marketing and Sales to Take Time Off
Automating Black Friday Sales
Black Friday sales – you either love them or hate them as a business owner. I had quite a few clients this year tell me they didn’t want to even do anything for Black Friday, because they just wanted to be present and not worry about work. Which I am 100% here for. I feel the same way about just wanting to be present with my husband and family during the holiday which is why I’m suggesting automating Black Fridays Sales as much as you can.
If you don’t run any kind of sale for Black Friday, you’re really missing out on a huge opportunity. As much as we all complain about the consumerism and the greed and the yadda yadda – most of us have been the one to wait to buy something that we wanted specifically to see if it would go on sale for Black Friday. Last year, I waited to purchase a website template from Elizabeth McCravy because I wanted to see if they’d go on sale. We’re primed as buyers to do this. So if you aren’t running ANY kind of sale, you’re missing a huge opportunity in front of you to boost your revenue for the year.
So I really encourage you to think about doing something, even something small. Which is why today I’m going to be sharing 6 different ways I’m automating my Black Friday marketing and sales so that I can be as present as possible with my family. In fact, my goal is to just check in once a day with my email and DM inboxes to answer any questions there. That’s it. 3 of these tips are going to be helpful if you want to keep things really basic, and 3 of them are going to be more advanced ways I’m automating. Please don’t feel like you need to do them all. If you need to, tuck some of them away for next year, okay? Keep it simple.

- This week’s action step: Get that content created and scheduled. The final three are more advanced strategies and you may not have time for them this year, but having that content created, and choosing sales for items that you can automate delivery on, that you can do this week to prepare.

Episode 135: Pinterest Best Practices for 2022 with Nadalie Bardo
Pinterest Strategy For Business in 2022
When I first started my business back in 2018, everyone was going on and on about how important it was to get your content out on Pinterest. So, I figured it was important and if the experts said to do it, then I’d do it. In fact, one of my first investments as a business owner was Tailwind. And right away I started to see traffic and traction, so I kept at it.
Joining group boards, different tailwind tribes, creating my own, pinning like crazy. Like the one that I am, I found all of the rules and I followed them.
And then came the major shift in Pinterest’s wants. If you’ve been around, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about, because while Pinterest was always making changes like any other platform, this one changed EVERYTHING.
I want to say it was in 2019 because I can remember listening to a podcast from a Pinterest expert while folding laundry in our Washington house. But my timing very well might be off.
Regardless, this update threw all of us for a loop. All of a sudden everything that we had been doing was being called a no-no, and it seemed like using Tailwind was going to harm our accounts, and even the Pinterest experts didn’t understand what was going on.
It pretty quickly came out that Tailwind was still a partner, but by that point I was just too overwhelmed to be bothered. So I used Pinterest at a bare minimum moving forward because I was too overwhelmed to keep up with all of the new rules and to try and sit down and understand them. I just kept telling myself I’d hire a Pinterest expert when the time was right. Only the time was never right.
And my guess is that you probably feel the same way about Pinterest. You know you need to use it, you might have even used it in the past, but it seems entirely too complicated at the moment to bother with yourself.
Well, good news my friend, because today I’m so excited to tell you that I’m joined by a very special guest – Nadalie Bardo, and she’s here to help.
Nadalie Bardo is a Pinterest coach dedicated to helping blogs, brands, and businesses like yours achieve their goals of more traffic, more subscribers, and more sales. For the last 6 years, she’s organically built her personal development blog, It’s All You Boo’s authority, and reach for free with just Pinterest and SEO. Achieving 1M views on Pinterest since her very first month, she’s grown her email list to 14K subscribers and has sold 1000s of copies of her digital products and courses.
And the best part? What she teaches is oh so simple, AND it works. I started to put it into practice immediately after this interview, and right away saw a major increase in my traction and traffic with my website. So, be sure to listen to this a few times, take some notes, whatever you need to do.
