Episode 132: Grounding Grief with Mandy Jankus
On today's episode, Mandy Jankus and I explore the mighty topic of grief. We know that this is such a present topic as we experience the holidays. We are both motherless daughters navigating the never ending journey of grief. Mandy gives us permission to accept that the grief journey is not linear or prescriptive. She shares with us how she keeps her mother alive and present by creating meaningful rituals. She also established a Little Free Library in honor of her mother to share her mother's love of books. Listen to the whole episode and share your thoughts with us on Instagram @OneWade and @kindredcoaching As we discussed in the podcast, creating rituals helps ground us and get quiet so that we can hear and connect to ourselves. At Centered in the City, we help you design mindfulness based rituals that support you pausing to listen inwards so that you can live more intentionally outwards. Like most people, I’ve had my fair share of emotional bumps and bruises. During those dark hours, I’ve found immense support in Dr. Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability, courage-building, and shame resilience. After my mother's death in 2020 I used these tools as a foundation to learn about grief and mental health coaching. I use Dr. Brown's curriculum—combined with tenants of social-emotional learning and cognitive behavioral coaching —to facilitate whole-hearted conversations with students, faculty, organizations, and individual coaching clients.

Solo Episode: Mindfully Taking Charge of the New Year
There is a balance we try to strike at the beginning of the New Year. Part of us wants to step on the gas pedal and zoom into "get sh*t done mode." While another part of us wants to stay right where we are because change or growth can be hard/exhausting. Or is this only me?
On today's podcast episoode, I talk about 3 ways you can take loving action to mindfully take charge of your new year. A way to grow and set new year intentions and goals that come from your heart and soul. An approach of how to grow and acheive from a more sustainable place of inner alignment.
