DECISIONS. DECISIONS. We are nearing the February 10th date where many have felt that the Boston Celtics management will officially let all of Celtics Nation know if they are putting all their chips in to try and be a title contender this season or if they are waiving the white flag for this season and will wait atleast another season and try maybe to make next season the year where they fulfill the promise they made to the Celtics fans by joining the ranks of the NBA's Elite and become an NBA powerhouse who has a legit shot to win an NBA Championship. February 10th is the NBA Trade Deadline. Rumors have been spreading around the leage according to insiders saying that the Celtics have made every players on the team available except for Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams. The Celtics could opt to put all thei chips in and try and get another player or 2 who could help the team and try and make a run for the playoffs and see what happens this season by using players we got a chips and trade exceptions we got. Or they could waive the white flag and have a yard sale and start sending away some of the stars we got in exchange for players who Celtics fans know will not likely be with the team next season in the hopes of making this offseason more of a blockbuster offseason. So where do we stand on Saturday January 29th as the team prepares to take on the Pelicans in 1 hour. Have any moves been made that could tell us the direction their going. If so what impact does it have on this upcoming offseason. We will discuss that and more on todays edition of Celtics Talk Radio

The Celtics and the rest of the NBA are just 5 days from the 12 days from the NBA All-Star Break. The Celtics in the previous week played 2 big games against teams that were ahead of them in the standings hoping to show Celtics GM Brad Stevens and Celtics Nation that maybe they have what it takes to make a playoff run and not to make any big trades at the deadline which is February 10th 3PM ET. The Celtics played both the Miami Heat who were the #1 seeded team in the Eastern Conference. Then the Charlotte Hornets who are the #7 seeded team in the East. The Celtics went into both games healthy while both of their opponents went into the games missing players giving the Celtics an advantage. The Celtics managed to beat both those teams and the results had many saying the team is looking much better and playing the way they should BUT we arent sold yet on them cause of the players who were missing or its only 2 games. So do our host agree with them or not? Meanwhile during the last week Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com reported that Jaylen Brown could be willing to leave the team if the team didnt start to live up to their potential as he would feel at that point its just not the right fit. This has had many Boston Sports reporters and Celtics Insiders questioning would and should the team now start considering the idea of trading Jaylen Brown sooner rather then later rather then risking another Kyrie Irving type situation where you lose the superstar for nothing. The Celtics Talk Crew discusses that major topic plus the last week of action and what we expect at the trade deadline on this edition of Celtics Talk Radio

The NBA Trade Deadline has come and gone and now we have reached the NBA All-Star Break. The NBA returns to game action this Thursday where it will be full speed ahead to the NBA Playoffs. The Celtics at last weeks Trade Deadline finally made some moves to improve the roster and potentially the outlook of the team going forward and in return got Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs and Daniel Theis from the Houston Rockets. We will look back at those deals and discuss the impact of those moves going forward and what Brad Stevens should be looking to do next to help the roster improve. Should he be looking at the buyout market or go after players who are waived in hopes of filling roster spots that are now open for the rest of the season and if so for who? The Celtics meanwhile during that deadline were on a winning streak that reached 9 games in a row. It started with their 107-97 win over the Pelicans on the road back on January 29th and finished with a 135-87 blowout win over Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia. However the streak was then snapped by a 1 point loss to arguably the worst team in the league the Detroit Pistons 112-11 so which is the real Boston Celtics? The one who has lost often to the bad teams or the one who showed they can beat the good teams we discuss. During that streak both Marcus Smart and Robert Williams the III went down with injuries we give you the latest on them. Jaylen Brown was snubbed from the All-Star game it has made him play like a man on fire but did he deserve to go we discuss? Plus other top stories in the NBA like the PHI and BKN Trade. The Lakers lost Anthony Davis are they in trouble of missing the playoffs and would Celtics fans be satisfied with a 1st round exit for the C's if at the same time the Lakers dont make the playoffs? We are joined by Sports Reporter Bobby Krivitsky. You can find him on twitter @BobbyKrivitsky and via his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CelticsSI

Could the Boston Celtics actually end up with the #1 spot in the Eastern Conference for the NBA Playoffs this season? Yes ladies an gentleman a question that not even the most positive minded fans would have thought to ask themselves might now have to start being questioned. The Celtics thanks to a dominant month of February where they won 11 of 13 games the Celtics went from being a team that was fighting just to earn the right to be in the Wild Card Pay In Tournament games. To now being just 4.5 games behind the Miami Heat for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference and just 2 games behind the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers for the #2 and #3 seeds and just 1 game back of the Milwaukee Bucks for the #4 seed. The Celtics will have a chance to make up a ton of ground in the coming week if they can win their next 2 games which will feature them facing the Brooklyn Nets and the Charlotte Hornets as all 4 teams in front of them will either be facing each other or some of the other top NBA Teams meaning they could lose while the Celtics are on their days off meaning the Celtics gain ground without doing any work. Sundays game with the Nets is the big game as the Celtics will face the Nets with both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving it is still questionable if Ben Simmons will play. This is the final time these 2 teams will meet during the regular season and we have yet to see these 2 teams play each other at full strength. So a win here for the Celtics if both teams are health would be huge for fans to have confidence going into the playoffs. The Celtics Talk Crew will be joined by Rich Conte OF TechLifePod will be with us as we look at the Celtics recent hot streak and discuss what should be the expectations now for this team especially if they do get that #1 seed? Would fans once again be letting them off the hook if they do get the #1 seed and the team fails to win it all? Who would be the best matchup in round 1 as we are 1 month away from the playoffs.

January 6th Celtics Fans. Do you remember that date Celtics Fans? It was a day that the Celtics lost to the New York Knicks 108-105 to fall to 18-21 and fell to the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference. After that game many Celtics fans talked about boycotting the season. Celtics insiders, reporters and analysts were questioning the heart and hustle of this team and said something needed to change and maybe Celtics GM Brad Stevens needed to blow it up. Ultimately something did happen ladies and gentleman however I dont think anybody was expecting what we have gotten. Its been 79 days since that loss at Madison Square Garden and the Boston Celtics have gone from a team that looked like they were destined for at best the play in tournament and a 1st round exit in the NBA Playoffs at the hands to one of the Eastern Conference Powerhouses to a team that is now fighting for the right to be the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Yes your read that correctly the Boston Celtics could very well be your #1 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs this season. The Celtics are in the middle of a 4 team race for that #1 spot that features the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers as the other 3 teams in the race. All 4 teams are literally seperated by just 2 games in the standings with the Miami Heat currently sitting as the #1 seed in the East. The Celtics and Heat both have 8 games remaining while the 76ers and Bucks have 9. So who will be your #1 seed in the Eastern Conference? What do the schedules for each of these teams look like and who has it the hardest and who has it the easiest? What about the tiebreaker scenarions for these 4 teams who has it against who? With 2 weeks left in the regular season how is the playoff picture shaping up in the East and West? Are any big name teams out of the running? We will discuss the current look of the playoffs with our special guest Mike Dynon of CelticsBlog.Com

We have finally reach the end of the NBA Regular Season. The Boston Celtics after starting the regular season looking like they were destined to possibly be a play in tournament team. Or even a team that would be likely to miss the playoffs. The Celtics used a major 2nd half run to get themselves into the running for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Proving that when healthy they could beat anyteam in the NBA giving fans hope that maybe an NBA Title could happen this season if the team actually played to their full potential. However the Celtics then lost Robert Williams III to an injury which could have him miss the 1st round of the playoffs. Questions about which of their players are vaccinated and which ones arent could make a potential matchup in round 1 with the Toronto Raptors even more difficult if that were to happen. So with just 1 day left in the NBA Regular Season schedule. What seed did the Celtics end up with? Are they still in a situation where they could move up or move down in the standings and if so what are those scenarios and who could the potential opponents be? What about the play in tournmanet matchups how are they shaping up. We will discuss all of this on the final Regular Season edition of Celtics Talk Radio

In what will be the final episode of Celtics Talk Radio here on Blogtalkradio.com before we move to our new platform. The Celtics Talk Radio Crew will recap the Celtics winning games 3 and 4 of their 1st round playoff series in Brooklyn, N.Y. which gave the Celtics a 4-0 series win over the Nets. The Celtics basically did what no one was expecting them to do which was sweep the Nets out of the playoffs and now the Celtics will move on to the 2nd round to play the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics in that 1st round made both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant look bad with their stiffling defense. As Kyrie Irving had 1 good game in game 1 and 3 straight bad games to end the series. While Kevin Durant had 3 bad games to start the series before having a good game in the win or go home game 4 but his performance wasnt enough to save the Nets. Meanwhile the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both played well in the 1st round with Tatum averaging nearly 30 points a game and Brown averaging nearly 23 a game. So what did the Celtics duo prove as they outplayed the duo of Kyrie and Durant in this series knowing most experts chose the Nets to win and yet it took only 4 games for Boston to send the Nets packing? The Celtics also got back Robert Williams after he missed over 3 weeks of action due to needing surgery which will be a big boost for the 2nd round series. How huge is it that Timelord is back and based on what we saw from Daniel Theis in round 1 should it be Theis who starts knowing Timelord is just returning from surgery or should Timelord get back into the starting lineup? Meanwhile the storylines out of this 1st round matchup will be talked about all off season. We will discuss our thoughts on the series win over the Nets and preview the 2nd round matchup with the Bucks alongside our 2 special guest Celtics Blog Contributor Mike Dynon (@MikeDynon on twitter) and CLNS Radios Celtics Pre and Postgame Host Matt Rury (@CLNS_Rury on twitter)

The Celtics finished their 5 game Western Conference Road Trip last night by facing the defending Western Conference Champion Phoenix Suns. The Celtics on the road trip took on the Jazz, Trailblazers, Lakers, Clippers and Suns which included 2 back to backs (Jazz/Trailblazers, Lakers/Clippers). The Celtics started the trip losing to the Jazz 137-130. They rebounded the next night beating the Trailblazers 145-117. The Celtics had 2 days off before taking on the arch rival Lakers in LA and would go on to lose that one 117-102 in a game that saw the Celtics keep the game close in the 1st half before Lebron and company blew the game open in the 2nd half. The very next night the Celtics would take on the Clippers who played without their top 2 players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and yet the Celtics still lost 114-111. The Celtics would then have a day off before taking on the Phoenix Suns. The Celtics would take on the Suns in a game that would see the Celtics again play an opponent missing a key piece of their roster as the Suns were missing All-Star Devin Booker but the Celtics would again be missing Jaylen Brown as he would be missing his 5th straight game. The Celtics would keep the game close in the 1st quarter before the Suns pulled away in the 2nd. Jayson Tatum and Dennis Schroder were the only 2 players who showed any fight in the game last night. Not putting up a fight and having a lack of energy or will to compete was a major trend in this 5 game stretch where the Celtics went 1-4 without Brown where their only win was a 28 point win over the Trailblazers who didnt have Damian Lillard. The Celtics in this road trip lost to a Clippers team missing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and a Suns team missing Devin Booker while having the best player on the floor in Jayson Tatum. We discuss the 5 game road trip with Mike Dynon (@MikeDynon on twitter) as well as let you hear the frustration many celtics experts are now having with the team via our audios

Celtics Nation now knows when and where they will get to see this years Celtics team play and now its time for the Celtics Talk Crew to break down the schedule and give their thoughts on how diffucult of a schedule the league gave our boys in green and the key dates for the Celtics fans to keep an eye out for. The Celtics will open up the season on October 20th in New York against the Knicks. The Celtics will start the season with an 11 game stretch from October 20th to November 10th where only 2 games will feature teams who finished ahead of the Celtics in last years standings. It will be crucial for the Celtics to gel as quickly as possibly in that 11 game stretch as they begin a month and a half stretch on November 12th where they will run a gauntlet facing several of the leagues top teams all the way till the end of the 2021 calender year which could truly put them in a nice spot in the standings if they win most of those games or in bad position if they lose most of them. That month and a half span features 25 games which includes 3 games vs the Bucks, 2 vs the Suns, 2 vs the Clippers, 1 vs the Hawks, 2 vs the Lakers, 1 vs the Nets, 1 vs the Spurs, 1 vs the Raptors, 2 vs the 76ers, 1 vs the Jazz, 1 vs the Blazers, 1 vs the Warriors, 1 vs Knicks. The Celtics will have 5 back to backs in that span vs MIL @ CLE, vs LAL vs OKC, @ UTAH @ POR, @ LAL @ LAC, vs GS vs NYK. The Celtics schedule will get easier once they get to January, The Celtics will play 15 back to backs and only 3 of them will be without travel included the league average is 13.5 back to backs. The Celtics will play the Bulls, Heat, Cavs and Magic 3 times instead of 4 times. The Celtics in total will travel 43,000 miles this season which is 3,000 more then the Eastern Conference Average. So we will discuss this schedule and any other key dates that have been revealed for fans.

The Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers last night looking to win their 4th game in a row to try and get their record to a 22-21 record. Meaning they just played their 43rd game of the season. Meaning they have officially played more then half of their 82 game schedule. Meaning the Celtics time to try and make a run for a top seed in the Eastern Conference is starting to get shorter and shorter. So where do they stand in the standings? Do they look like a championship team or do they once again look like a team destined to let Celtics Nation down? We discuss where the team sits in the standings. Also knowing they now have less then half their games left before the season ends and based on where the team is in the standings we discuss how much longer can the team delay before making the big decision which is to either make a massive change to the roster and make a playoff push or tank the rest of the season and try to get a decent asset for the trade market this summer but dont fight just to waste your time fighting with the roster you got just to be a team that just misses the playoffs or is a 1st round exit team cause your a play in tournament team. That plus more on this weeks edition of Celtics Talk Radio with our special guest NBA Baseline host Warren Shaw (@ShawsportsNBA on twitter)
