The belated movie sequel is a terrifying proposition. It starts with a movie you love and ends decades later with broken promises and a disgusting taste in your mouth. Don't believe me? But none of those movies had the potential to break our hearts more than Top Gun: Maverick. So after years of rumors, development, and delays, the day of judgement has arrived.
