Business Conversations with Clive Enever
Too often people set themselves up for failure because they believe procrastination is about self discipline, according to time management expert Barbara Clifford, who notes if we change our approach, we can actually overcome the urge to put things off. In this episode of Business Conversations, Barbara shares her secrets on exactly how that approach can be altered, including getting to the heart of why we delay specific tasks. Barbara and I discuss: •'Shadow values' - what they are and how they drive or deter us •Why we need to focus on where we place our energy •Finding the joy in a task or discovering how it's linked to something important to us. Barbara Clifford is a time management strategist and certified Stress Management Practitioner who is on a mission to help people unclutter the chaos and break free from the shackles of overwhelm. Her aim is to see people wake each day inspired and motivated to work in peak performance and to live on purpose. Barbara has spent over 20 years working in stressful, time precious industries such as film, hospitality and marketing while also juggling responsibilities of managing her family, business and career development. She is a regular newspaper columnist, guest speaker for local radio, podcast favourite and enrichment speaker on cruise ships. She lives in Alice Springs with her husband and two children. Each week I'm joined by a new guest to dive into the many facets of business. Subscribe to my podcast here to join the Business Conversation: https://www.cliveenever.com.au/business-conversations/
