Blue Hour - FTC investigates OpenAI, ChatGPT+ features, encouraging AI entrepreneurs, and more | Blue Hour Ep 24

FTC investigates OpenAI, ChatGPT+ features, encouraging AI entrepreneurs, and more | Blue Hour Ep 24

08/15/23 • 37 min

Blue Hour

This week we start with the FTC investigation into Open AI. We wonder how often people are actually filing complaints related to its hallucinations, and how many people understand the nuance between a search engine and a reasoning engine.

We also chatted about custom instructions for ChatGPT+ users, a great tool for people who want to have a consistent chat-context and response-tone from the chatbot.

There’s a lot of opportunity right now for entrepreneurs building with AI, especially because many of the biggest players, like OpenAI and Anthropic, are laser-focussed on making artificial general intelligence (AGI) a reality. We discussed some of the opportunities we’re seeing and some of the products we’ve come across.

Finally, we wrap things up by discussing whether generative-art is art at all, inspired by a recent article in the Technology & Marketing Law Blog.

Thanks for tuning in for another week.

ChatGPT Code Interpreter, outsourcing to AI tools, and discussing creativity | Blue Hour Ep 23

In Episode 23 we start with ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter, an awesome new tool in beta for Plus users. Erich’s been using it as a data analyst and loving it.
Next we discussed using reasoning engines, specifically ChatGPT, to do jobs you might not have been previously proficient in. This includes customer service, business analyst, and data analyst.
We also highlighted a couple new AI products, including Superhuman AI (https://www.producthunt.com/products/superhuman#superhuman-ai) and CaseMark (https://www.casemark.ai/). CaseMark published a guide to prompt engineering for the legal-field, which is interesting to see https://www.legalpromptguide.com/.
We also wonder if our creativity and ingenuity are at-risk, or if this question is a classic being applied to new technology?
Thanks for tuning in.

Stack Overflow x Purdue Study, New ChatGPT+ Feature, Paypal Stablecoin, and more | Blue Hour Ep 25

And we’re back with Episode 25! We start this week discussing a joint study by Stack Overflow and Purdue University. It analyzed ChatGPT's responses to coding queries as seen on Stack Overflow, and concluded that while ChatGPT excels with general questions, it struggles with producing code. We jump in with our firsthand experiences and insights producing large amounts of clean code with ChatGPT. Next, we explore ChatGPT4's new content moderation endpoint tool, which leverages OpenAI's technology to empower fewer moderators to expand the model more rapidly and accurately. It will increase content label consistency with implications for a myriad of companies dealing with crowd-sourced inputs. We then dive into Amazon's new product review feature, which aggregates all reviews on popular products, enabling prospective buyers to query this dataset with specific questions before buying. Another application of the limited database-mindset? Lastly, we return to defi with PayPal announcing its crypto stable coin launch. As one of the largest financial service providers, we discuss the possible implications of large-scale adoption thanks to their massive user base.
