Here we go again...

Today we are thrilled to be sharing a conversation we had with Angie Atkinson about living in uncertainty all over again. This felt like a conversation shared between friends over a cup of good coffee rather then a conversation held across time zones and we are so excited for you to be part of it. Angie drops some great knowledge nuggets about control, taking our own advice and building new tables. So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

Tune in to this episode to hear about:

  • How do you Identify?
  • How do you recognize your Privilege?
    • Build new tables
  • Where are you at with uncertainty, this round, personally? Professionally?
  • How has time played a role in sitting and continuing to sit in uncertainty?
    • Who has the control, we as humans desire safety, plays a role in responding to uncertainty
    • We were never in control in the first place
  • Any tips for Camp pros as they continue to sit in uncertainty?
  • Acknowledge feelings, set boundaries, refocus (gratitude, looking forward to....)
  • How do you intentionally set boundaries during these times and clearly acknowledge and honour them? How do you decide which boundaries to set?
  • How does boundary-setting play into FOMO/Career Advancement?
  • How can we avoid burnout with our careers/jobs, but also with the pandemic at the same time?
  • So, Let’s talk about balancing optimism and toxic positivity. Where do you strike a balance? How do you address this with others?
  • Where can we place our hope as we sit in this space of uncertainty, again, for many of us
  • Thoughts on how this (the pandemic) may be causing harm to us as human beings. What might the healing process look like for camp pros?
  • If you could give one piece of advice to a camp pro last summer what would it be?

-

How are you doing in this next moment of uncertainty? Tell us about it in the comments!

What is Beyond Camp?

Beyond Camp is brought to you by Go Camp Pro.

Cassie Bloy and Rachel Kent are here to explore the intersection of camp and our lives. As much as people like to talk about camp and ‘the real world’ as two separate entities, camp professionals know that this simply isn’t true. Beyond Camp dives into how different aspects of our lives affect our camp experience, effectively bursting the camp bubble and welcoming all parts of our lives into the conversation.

Go Camp Pro is excited to bring you this podcast.
